Capitalism is one thing, simple and utter greed is another. But that might somehow be confusing to some people, I guess.

There's no point trying to show how shitty/shady it is to exploit a shortage and cash in on your fellow man, cause well, you guys just don't care / can't understand that.

So, please continue to confuse capitalism and chasing after a dollar bill by buying something before a kid can and then turning around and selling said item back to said kid. Continue being a low-life.

The Big Boy comment was making fun of Akbar. He called himself and his roommate "Big Boys." I just thought that was ridiculous and pretty funny. I'm sure he just meant he was fat though (How's that for name calling, Chris! ;-) )

So again .. next time any of you want something that's in short supply, give me a heads up so I can buy it first and sell it back to you at a profit. That's what you want from me, right?

Here's something I learned from reading The Rebel Sell:

When you feel like doing something, ask yourself two questions - 1. Is this creating work for others? 2. What if everyone did this?

I'm sure neither of those questions will have any impact on you, and I guess that's kind of my point.

If everyone did that, then more people would simply buy the consoles on ebay. It's ridiculous that they would spent that much, seeing as how they don't need it. You are still making it seem as if Ebayers are keeping people from something that they need to live.

It would only create more work for them if they decided to buy it right away, which is ridiculous! The shortage itself creates artificial demand, whether or not it's scalpers or the company itself that is the direct cause of the demand. I won't argue there. However, artificial demand occurs without immoral behavior.

I'll admit, when all those Xbox 360's were out of stock for months, I felt like I wanted one like crazy, even though I'm a casual gamer. THAT is artificial demand. Anyone will want something more if it's not available. There is a solution however. Reason will tell you that it's just a toy, a piece of plastic, that will be in Gamestop used for 100 bucks in several years. It doesn't mean anything and neither does the Wii or PS3.

As far as impact on people, there is only an impact if they choose for it to happen. I would not dare spend any more money on something than what it's retail value. They are making themselves victims, that is if they feel victimized. If they feel victimized, then for god's sake, buy the thing in March.

Buying and selling for profit is part of capitalism my friend, there is no confusion. It doesn't make the people doing it "low-lifes" it makes them people who benefit from opportunities. The opportunities are there for them to take.

By the way, if you bought up everything of something that I wanted I would just wait until it became so readily available that you won't have the chance to buy them all up. That is, if that product is a luxury good. I could care less that it's not available or it's not cheap enough (like plasma tvs), I'll just wait.

Then again, I don't victimize myself into ridiculous transactions!

ok, first of all, it's a free country man! I got as much as right as the next person to sell anything I want. As far as greed goes, everyone and anyone will jump at the chance to make a few bucks. No amount of money is never too much for most of us.

My buddy is at the moment standing in line in front of best buy as I am typing this and heck, when the system sells for a lot more than what he paid for it and i get a cut of the profit, I'm a happy man!

So say all you wanna say about me being greedy or whatever. Afterall, My bud has been sleeping out in the cold to get the PS3...maybe that means SH*T to some people, but hey it's a big deal to the rest of us.

Bottom line, no one's making anyone pay whatever ridiculous amount. The way I see it, anyone who is willing to pay that and has the money to, that's their right man!

End of comment.
