Lair has always been one of the most interesting PS3 exclusives. Good to hear it's shaping up nicely.

Hey 3. Yeah you dipshit. You'd be pissed too if you waited to play a game and they turned it off as soon as you got to it, and told you to go downstairs for a "surprise". Then even more pissed when you found out it was Ludacris

When I first saw screens of this game, I thought it would be some kind of open RPG with dragons. Badass.

Then it turned out to be another dragon flying attacking game. Lame.

Now, after more details are out, it is another dragon flying attacking game with a lot of gameplay twists. Intriguing.

My opinions of the sixaxis have been jaded by the disappointment I felt when I got my Microsoft Sidewinder. I was so looking forward to this amazing new technology only to find out it was rubbish. Hope sony has got it right for their sake.

WTF! Screw that guy! If that's how they treat the gaming press, that basically gives them free press, then they can go suck one.

I hope there is an option for normal controls; for when im lazy, but, still want to cause havok on a dragon.

(yea, yea, i know, you only need small motions, but, im really lazy)

I'm more curious on what the game is like, and whether a similar one can be done on the Wii though (other than the graphics naturally). Still, I wish more games involving dragons and flight isn't always involving burning stuff up..

Nice trolling.

I'm intruiged by the game because of the setting, dragons are always cool! and also because it's Factor5. Liked their games since way back with Giana Sisters, Katakis and Turrican.

Hmm...
I played it at TGS and it just felt like Rogue Squadron with dragons. The controlls were ok, although it looks like a late implementation of a new feature.
But the dragon fights were as bad as the walking missions in RSIII, just moving the controller in the direction of the adversary. In the end: Nothing special...

Just watched a few in-game videos of the actual game itself. Wow, what can I say? Looks pretty basic. Sure it looks pretty, but 'bumping' into other dragons to save them from burning down a bridge?

The sad thing is, a lot of the actual action, i.e Jumping from your dragon to another dragon and then killing it, will probably only mean pressing a couple of buttons that chain a small repeated 'video' together'

X = bump dragon, Square = Jump to opposing dragon, Triangle = Hit dragon.

y'get me? Pretty tedious. Anyway, check the following link and let me know what you think.

It just looks so... simple. Theres no other word that I can think of that fits it better. You fly around, you shoot fire at another dragon, you land and chew on a few troops (usually your own =P), and then youre back up in the air to shoot down more dragons.

Pretty? Yes, definatly. But what does this game do that couldnt be done 5 years ago in Rogue Squadron?

Gears of War looks "simple" too and could have been done last gen...much like kill.switch.

I love how people just want to generalize everything. You people make the fanboy communities proud.

I'll ignore the game for a moment(which looks quite good), to ask:

What the hell is Sony doing hosting a "Gamers Day" event, and then forcing people to stop playing games so they could see Ludacris. If Sony was pimping a new Ludacris RPG, or if Ludacris was introducing a new MSG4 trailer maybe that would make sense. Sony had been accused of doing some strange stuff, but this one of the strangest. It's like some bizaro world promotion:

"Behold, the PS3 you all desire."
"That's sweet, dude. Can I try some games so I can tell my readers how great they are?"
"NO! But we will allow you to go downstairs immediately for buffet and Ludacris. After which you must leave, never to play the system until launch or sometime thereafter."

Steam would have shot out of my ears if this happened, and I don't even mind Ludacris. But I think even Ludacris knows he wouldn't stand a chance against playable PS3.

Chimp. It sounds like the event was over. You could either go to dinner and the concert or leave. When the showfloor is closed it is closed. E3 doesnt stay open hours longer so the people still in line can play the games.

I'm not planning on picking up a PS3 until I see more of the games and online support structure, but this game is one that piqued my interest about a month ago. Sounds cool, but damn how I wish you would have gotten to test drive it.

I cant imagine trying to sit comfortably and operate the stupid controller for any extended period of time. While games that require you to move the controller are often really cool there is a point where to much is too much. And this is where the sixaxis will fail gamers if its incorporated into the major gameplay of too many games.

This game will be awesome, all the previews and hands on impressions are saying so. And to those whining about how hard it will be to use the controller - give me a break! Its light as a feather, and you just have to tilt it slightly, not wave your arms around wildly like with the wiimote. I love how the Wii 'for sure' won't be annoying or make your arms tired, but the Sixaxis, which requires 10x smaller motions, will be...

28: Except you don't have to move wildly with the Wii remote at all unless you want to. It registers small movements and large ones as the same, if necessary. Wii Sports proves this and it's mentioned in every other hands-on about it.

So, I'll just assume either you've not read anything about it.

I'm not very interested in this one. Largely because it IS Factor 5. Has every one forgot their last game? You know, the one similar to this one that had flight and on-foot sequences? It was awful.

I'm scared about the title. None of the hands-ons are terribly negative, but even this one doesn't strike me as terribly positive... particularly when most of it was based upon watching other people play it.

honestly, this game is ugly. and they just released MORE fake screens to pretty up the game. the game looks absolutly terrible in the texture department. and a total downgrade of what it was suppose to do. the only thing keeping [people interested are the dragon fights and the size of the environments.

Sweet, another reason to not buy a PS3!

It wasn't enough that Sony put a bullet to Lik Sang, now I get to ignore another game, as it looks like a remake of Drakan.

Thanks for choosing me a 360 Sony! It will look nice sitting where my PS2 used to be.

for pete's sake, people. Sony isn't the only corporation that gives people an ultimatum.

ie, E3 2005, after waiting in line for two hours, i finally made it into the room to try out Zelda: Twilight Princess. i'm standing behind about 4, 5 guys playing the demo. after about 15, 20 minutes, i finally walk up to the controller to play. i get my hands on it, begin the demo, and the lady next to me is like, "we're putting T-Shirts away, now. if you want a T-Shirt, you'll have to leave." basically, i couldn't get a T-Shirt and go back to playing the demo, but i really, really wanted that T-Shirt. so, hacking at a few leaves and such, i walked away from my 5 second playtime with Twilight Princess and got the T-Shirt.

and besides, the event was *OVER.* apparently, Joystiq wasn't that interested in checking out PS3 games, as they would have done that as soon as they got there. hell, that's what i did at E3 this year. i only had one day to attend (and the last day at that). so i had limited time. i played 4 PS3 games, as those were the titles that people (ie, my friends) were interested in knowing about, walked around the Nintendo booth (in which there was no presence of anything but DS titles. i think maybe there were two GC games), played some 360 games, attended a few game demonstrations (like Rainbow Six and Ultimate Alliance), and tried to get in to see the Assassin's Creed demo (i couldn't, as you had to know someone within Ubisoft to get a ticket or invite).

i barely got to see all of the games i really wanted to, but when the doors closed and they kicked everybody out, did i huff off and pout in a corner? no. the event was over.

boo hoo, joystiq

I wonder if Matthias is telling the truth, because he would be telling me my worst nightmare for my 2005 self (I used to love the PS3 like a fanboy). When I first saw the CGI trailer of Lair, I said to myself, "The PS3 may have a good game for me (to play in the store, LOL)!" Than I thought about how crappy Factor Five's games were compared to better games in 2005. Take Rouge II verse Resident Evil 4. I love Rouge II as one of my first GCN games, but RE4 kicks the crap out of it, because half the time in Rouge I did not know why I died, at least in RE4 I saw the chainsaw coming. Than my suspisions were confirmed when I saw gameplay of Lair. It looks terrible. That's it, maybe it was my SDTV or something (that's probably what Sony wants me to say, LOL) but the game just looked jerky, repetitve, and non-expanding (kind of like repetitive).

Man, I went anti-Sony after E3 06...
