I love the "this is a waste of bandwith" comments I always see - what are you using a 14.4 modem? Did your internet install package come with 2 styrofoam cups and a string? If you don't like a story, doesn't it take more time to comment that it is wasting your time than to just scroll past it? Do you email CNN everytime they post something about Paris Hilton that isn't "newsworthy"?

Entry: blog
Definition: to author an online diary or chronology of thoughts

Well that's enough of the rant.

hey, this is a blog site, not a 'traditional news site' anything they want to post they can. Get over this "this is not news" crap...

And, btw...when a major retailer misprints the price of a upcoming videogame system by at least 200 dollars..that's news to me, and we'll be news to anyone who goes through the checkout line...

Isn't Walmart one of those places who honor prices they list?

So if you had printed this up in time and it was obvious it was a Walmart price couldn't you have technically gotten your PS3 for that?

Eh, I'm not suprised. Wal-Mart's graphic artist is probably some guy with about five teeth, bib overalls with no shirt, and probably gets alot of his work done by sqeezing a pig. I picture the guy going "Pea Ess Three? Wuzzat? Sure looks like a shiney thang. Ah hell, It can't be more than 300 buckaroo's. Someone get me a beer!"

So going to that page...it has a little slogan about each system. PS3 is "Next Generation of Gaming", Wii is "New Style of gaming" and XBox 360 says "Revolutionary"...

How is 360 revolutionary? Someone please tell me. 360 has XBox live...well it first came out for XBox, so it didn't create that. Wireless controllers which came from Wavebird(first successful) and then there is Harddrive but that has been on PC's, Xbox and modified PS2s...So I have yet to know what is so revolutionary about the system.

Graphics is not revolutionary but an upgrade.

BlindSide Dork,

360's Live is ALOT better and much more integrated than Xbox 1's Live.

The Wavebird didn't have rumble, so I don't consider that successful.

I don't even know why the heck you listed Harddrive.

More power means more things developers can do with the system. Also where is it written that Next-Gen always has to be revolutionary? If you seem to think that rotating your wrists in odd ways to steer your car is revolutionary, then god help you.

Just a little reminder to the folks at Joystiq. When the XBox 360 first came out - it was going for well over $500 on e-bay, so if you think there is not a market for a $500 console you've already been proven wrong. Just getting sick of the overpriced comments, if you can't afford it - quit whining.

You ever think that the reason that there is so much Sony hate out there, may have something to do with all the BS they have been pulling with thier loyal consumers. I can assure you that some of the people that are commenting on this own a PS2 and had wanted a PS3. Don't get upset just because the tied is turning and people are fed up with Sony screwing with them.

Funny, the same could be said of people who invent witty comment handles and then rail against the very system that they just took a minute or so to post a comment on. It's called "being a hypocrite." Get thyself to a dictionary and look it up you tool box.

Yeah, I'm sure that Wal-Mart's marketing department is full of bucktoothed hillbillies.

Hillbillies that do more print work, design, video, live global satellite feeds, radio imaging, and related work than you'll ever do professionally.

Wal-Mart's marketing department has:

Satellite transmission based training (every store has their own TV channel for training videos and sales presentations of new merchandise)

Monthly print ads

Their own in-house television department (which produces their own TV commercials and training materials)

Their own radio network with two distinctive programming shifts (nights on Wal-Mart radio has it's own talk show!)

Think about that while you're squeezing your own pig.

Arkansas may have a poor reputation amongst the rest of the states, but it's also home to the richest company on the planet, so I'd rethink what you said. You may not like Wal-Mart, (Lord knows I don't...) but you cannot escape them.

Well at least you didn't say that Walmart was trying to "bait and switch" the customers like you did with the Circuit City misprint. Also I agree the "oh the PS3 is going to cost $600 that's too much" thing is getting old. If you can't afford it then just shut up and wait for the price to go down. It isn't like it is something you need t survive like food, shelter or medicine. Although some of you may think you have to have it it's just a gaming console. It isn't the end of the world if you don't get it on launch day (although some of you may thnk it is).

The bottum line is that what you get in the PS3 is actually a pretty good deal if you compare it to a gaming rig that has all that bluray crap. Also, if you have such a problem with Sony, don't buy it. If you have a problem with their pricing, don't buy it. Here is how capitolism works, Supply and Demand. If you are willing to pay it they will sell it at a higher price. Wait a year for the price to go down. Half the people in here(that are getting one as soon as it hits the market) are probably getting one from their parents for Xmas anyway. That's life, love it or leave it.

#22 Cody S.

"360's Live is ALOT better and much more integrated than Xbox 1's Live."

I didn't say 360's Live was better and integrated...that doesn't mean its revolutionary, just an UPDATE/upgrade.

"The Wavebird didn't have rumble, so I don't consider that successful."

Haha funny, so I guess that means that PSX, N64, Super NES, NES, and Sega controllers were not successful cause it didn't have rumble. It was successful in many ways...it was the first controller to do the wireless stuff correctly and effectively. Only a matter of time before rumble was added. Plus, rumble as first introduced with the RumblePak.

"I don't even know why the heck you listed Harddrive."

I listed harddrive cause I am sure some fanboy might have listed it as "first console with 20gb harddrive!" or something as a way to make it seem revolutionary.

"More power means more things developers can do with the system. Also where is it written that Next-Gen always has to be revolutionary? If you seem to think that rotating your wrists in odd ways to steer your car is revolutionary, then god help you."

I am not denying the capabilties of more power but more power is not revolutionary. I only bring up revolutionary cause when the 360 came out, all I heard on the news was it is a gaming revolution but I always pondered what made it revolutionary, made it a step above the rest, all there really is is a graphics upgrade. I mean when you upgrade a computer's graphics card, is that a revolution?

And about rotating your wrist, I see you are perhaps a MS fan boy. Try playing it...the controller is a new way to play vidoe games. One step closer to actually being in the game. How is going from pushing a stick and button to moving your hands around, tilting and turning it not a revolution? It is different than what has done before.

I'm sure Ninja Jason wasnt serious about the hillbilly thing, but apparently none of you can understand what "fooling around" is. I know,I know, the internet is for only serious, adult business, this "fooling around" gibberish must not be tolerated and smited at once.

I love how everyone on here goes apeshit when anyone says anything racist, sexist,or just fooling around. You know, when someone says "Those damn slant eye chinks love the PS3",it's not the cue to ram all your PC,"let's all jump through flowers in the imaginary world of hugs",bullshit down our throats.

Here, how about this one. Only homosexuals play Nintendo consoles, the yellow chinks with the highwater socks and cameras love the PS3,fat nerds play the Xbox, women don't play any of them because there's no tv in the kitchen and the blacks steal them all.

Now it's time to bring out your parade of PC bullshit that everyone should abide by because you say so.That's the cue,go!

Ok, I have a confession. I am a former Sony fanboy. Last gen, I ONLY bought a PS2, and once the next gen came into view, it was PS3 all the way. Then the price hit, and you know what I thought? "Well, its a bit high, but I DO work and I DO have the ability to save money, so it's no biggie. As long as there are games worth paying that much for right?" Time passed, and more and more cool games were being announced for the 360 (had already been interested in Gears and Halo, but also Mass Effect, Bioshock, and Lost Planet have gotten my attention), and less and less exclusives were really exciting me for the PS3. The only few exclusives that did get my excited were things like Liar and Assasin's Creed (and we know where Assasin's is heading now.) Also for the record, I'm not a fan of the Final Fantasy or Metal Gear series, so those mean nothing to me. So to those saying "quit bitching about the price, get a job!" It's not that we can't AFFORD it, we're gamers, and we know lots of money is involved in gaming no matter how you look at it. But it's about, "is $600 worth it just to play one or two potentially cool exclusive games?" My answer, for now, is no. And this Sony fanboy has officially gone M$, as much as I hate putting more money in Bill's pocket, the truth is that is where I see more bang for my buck. Another truth is that I'll probably eventually get a PS3, whenever the PS4 is announced and the price is $200 and there are more than a few games worth playing (All greatest hits titles that will be under $60). I just had to get all this out, all this loyalty bullshit and whiners going back and forth are really starting to piss me off, and I thought I'd explain at least my logic into my decision making for the time being. I happen to think it makes a hell of a lot of sense, but that's just me.

Is it because AOL owns these blogs that they are frequented by such morons?

I mean, I know it's expected when you're dealing with video game systems (why is that, anyway?), but you guys really never cease to outdo yourselves in the comments section.

Joystiq's average reader age is probably right around 13 years old. And it shows. And they cater to it, of course. With posts like these.

#38 The Intangible Fact

In my comments if you read, I did not diss its abilities or software or it's abilites.

Yes, I do like Nintendo stuff and I would get a PS3 if there were more games that I liked and I had a bunch of extra money and yes I would get a 360 but I can only see like 3 games I want and that isn't enough for me.

Look at my comments, they weren't negatory against 360 as a console itself or if it is worth the money. I am simply curious as to why everyone is saying it is "revolutionary." What makes it so revolutionary from it's predecessor XBox (which it was short live because lack of strong software) besides the graphic/HD upgrade? That was my question...if someone could tell me, that would be cool. I only brought it up cause on this same WalMart website, the tag line for it is "Revolutionary" and I want to know.

I personally am going with Wii, it is going to be half as much and the games look pretty damn cool too. Plus it has the best games for my six year old son to play. I don't have an HDTV nor will I be getting one anytime soon as to the fact that I am a broke dick. For these reasons(plus the cool ass controller for the Wii) I find it pointless to by a system with such great graphical processing power.

Sony sucks, and I've hated their porducts long before the PS1 was even pitched to Nintendo as a CD-ROM add-on.. They just make flaky products. My 6 month old cybershot crapped out 2 days ago, and I'm still livid about it.
