Seriously, GoW has gone gold already, it is done. It has been done for over a week. Emergence day is still over a week away. How long would it take to throw together a tiny demo. All I'm asking for is a couple locusts, one or two things to hide behind and that is it. I just want to play with the "action" button and see if I like the way the game plays.

OXM always said that the magazine has to be done, what, nearly 2months before they hit stands...old info I'm sure, if there's a demo, it'll be sometime after the game's release, Mark Rein said it himself on the MajorNelson podcast.

Not gonna happen. How many times does it have to be said? They have never worked on a demo and for the near future, will not work on a demo. Mark and Cliffy have said it two dozen times by now.

The OXM ad is wrong, just like the UK Xbox site was wrong.

Who gives a ****, for the love of God the game comes out in like 11 days. All a demo would do is ruin the specialness of playing it for the first time. I'm so sick of hearing about demos, you'd think everyone is too poor to buy or rent a game.

I think the 'NO DEMO' is ploy.

Do you think Microsoft wouldn't want a playable demo on every single kiosk over the holidays????

There will be a demo. This game will move systems.

I think all games should have a demo available. More people will give a game a chance if they can try a free demo, its just common sense. I never saw myself buying BFME II, but after trying the demo which I figured I'd take a gander it, I did. Most people are probably going to buy Gear of War without trying it first, and I'm sure it won't disappoint, but with heavy competition from games like COD3 and Vegas, thos gamers with thinner wallets, like myself, will prioritize which games they want most, and demos, in my opinion defintely help.

Pip, I think the game may actually be too graphic to demo on kiosks in stores. It might be more likely that Epic is confident that word of mouth and "playing the game over at your buddy's house" will move systems.

I would like more a demo than extra content , cause surely they will charge for the content , so the more people play it the more people i can play with on my pirated copy of GOW.

Demo. I am by no means convinced. I'm interested, but if they want my money, I'm going to have to play it first.

I won't even consider buying it without a demo. Been burned too many times on games with pretty graphics and gameplay/controls that I don't like or just don't work for me. If they want my money they will need to have a way for me to easily try the game first, and that means demo.

If I have to choose between a demo and extra content I prefer to have extra content just as long as they don't pull any stunts like EA.

This game will sell major consoles just becasue of the hype...if someone plays the demo and it isnt all its hyped to be M$ losses those potential customers.

So there probably will not be a demo before launch...maybe there will be one a couple days before the Ps3 launch though.

Me personally, I rather wait till the 7th, that way it wont tame down the little excitement I have for it.

Who needs a downloadable demo?

I've just played 8 player gears in a darkened room for 20 mins at the xbox 360 roadshow UK (metrocentre, gateshead, reserve a timeslot and return later) and it's astounding in looks and play - the shakey "cameraman following me" camera is very disorientating for the first 30 seconds and very impressive, then the action is so natural - though I would speculate that some might not like the "lock-on" cover play.

If you're in the UK and the tour passes you before 17th Nov (emergence day here) get yourself there for a few games.
