Nice commentary... I can't wait till Nov 19th! It's nice seeing candid footage of people trying it too.

Ya know what pisses me off? I sent you all video, plus impressions, of my Wii tour experience, and you didn't post them. Yet, somehow, for some reason (maybe because this doesnt have a loser in mario costume:P) this makes it to your site? I mean, could've at least been kind and told me WHY you didn't post it. Sorry to "bitch" but stuff like that really irkes me guys.

Everyone keeps screwing this up. Of course there will be jaggies! You're playing a 480p game on an HDTV with a 1366 x 768 or so resolution! If you could just play on a standard 480i TV or a 480p EDTV, then you will have much less problems in the way of "jaggies".

There is a difference between posting someone else's stuff and stuff that we witnessed firsthand. This didn't "make" it to the site -- I was there, this is what I did/saw, with my own eyeballs.

@ alisha

Awesome write up. i think you hit the nail on the head with the intuitive comments. I think we as gamers have gotten so used to the status quo that we've forgotten exactly why we started playing in the first place. The fun. The fun and the enjoyment in learning new tactics/controls and ideas in how to approach a game and conquer it. Think Zelda/Mario/Metal Gear/ Ninja Gaiden the first time you played them on NES.

I think I started losing interest in the game industry a couple of years ago. I was ready to pack it all up and call it quits without supporting the next gen. It was just too predictable with the way games were being made and marketed.

Then the DS dropped. It was weird, crazy, underpowered and quirky. I was interested because I don't know what to make of the damn thing. Now I love it (I was an early adopter)

Nintendo announced the Wii. Same deal. "A remote control for a controller? WTF?!"
I didn't know what to think or expect....even now I still don't. But it's so different that I'm interested in what exactly will come with these new developments. That has me very excited about the Wii. I can see some of the potential but it really has to be played to understand it. I look forward to the 19th.

Again....great write up!

Wow, great write. I've been reading a lot of first hand experiences from a lot of average joes like you and me, not the E3 buisness crowd. Everyone has the same reaction, and thats positive. If Nintendo hasn't shown it enough to me, they've got that whole site of test mice people playing for the first time - and lookin like they're having a blast.

Kinda ticks me that the bands overpowered the Wii, but theres more music fans than there are gamer fans y'know. I saw an earlier review on the fusion tour, and you couldn't hear a thing.

Great story and very well written.

I figured TP would be difficult at first, and like many have stated, I look forward to re-learning how to play games. I mean, I've been doing it for so long, and very rarely (Ikaruga, etc.) does a game throw me for a loop. I like the challenge.
