Sorry, but I'm not turning my Wii into a advertisement machine. They're putting advertisements all over the damn place nowadays, and they act as if they're running out of room. I'll take my Wii plain and white, thanks.

"Maybe Nintendo can sooth some of those people complaining about the system's profit-making price"

Let me get this straight - people complain about a company making a profit off of its equipment? The machine is cheap folks. How pathetic can you get.

The only thing I want to do add to the Wii, is a sticker that covers up "Wii" and says "Revolution"

And knowing how the entirety of the internet hates the name "Wii" I'm sure I won't have any trouble finding said decal.

I want to see a case mod where they shoehorn the Wii into an oldskool NES case.

Maybe it's just a bad past experience, but my stomach turns at the sight of a Wii/KFC drumstick controller. If I ever saw an image that made me not want a Wii, it's that one.

But aside from that, if buying an advertiser-branded version of any console let me get it for cheaper (let's say $100 off of the Wii, $125-$150 for the 360, or at least $300 for the PS3), I'd go for it. Remember, in the absolute worst-case scenario, that's what case mods are for.

Remember Powermaster malt liquor, and how critics said it was targeted at inner-city poor black youths? I have a feeling that the campaign against the KFC skinned Wii is going to be a whole lot uglier...

If stickers came out with Link and/or Samus, I'd slap them on the side of the machine. What I'd like is some clever stickers:
- Biohazard
- Pwnage
- Hamster running in a wheel
- Mario molesting/pissing on the Sony logo

There's something super awesome about waving a drumstick at the tv, especially when it's the Colonel's savory mix of herbs and spices.

Seriously, though, I think we're not even imagining the possibilities of the Wii interface. I have the fishing pole controller for my Dreamcast, for example; it's totally lame, but it gives you some ideas. What about a Harry Potter game for the kiddies with the Wii technology crammed into a wave-able wand? Or a Star Wars game with a lightsaber skin?

Ok, they're silly ideas, but there's a lot of potential in that little white box for taking people's money with fancy skins and controllers.

I think the KFC skin would be a nice tie in to Yum! Brands's new Nintendo games promotion.

For each of their major brands, they'll be introducing budget priced games that fit in with major videogame genres. Here's the exclusive scoop on the titles:

Sneak Colonel;
Trusty Bell (an RPG, co-developed with Namco/Bandai);
Delivery Boy Unlimited (racing game featuring popular mascots Mikhail Gorbachev, Dougie, Pizza Head, Jessica Simpson, and Queen Latifah).

How do they plan on changing the color of the blue light? That would take a lot more than a skin.

Isn't the idea that people want to apply prefabricated skins to their consoles dead by now? It can't be coincidence that the only place I see X360 faceplates on sale anymore is in the bargain bin, marked down to $7.99.

I'm hungry for some KFC now. I can see the fat gamers rolling into the emergency room now. Doc: "Is that a big drumstick in your tummy?" Fat Gamer: "It was my KFC special edition Wii controller, I guess I got hungry." Mmmmm, extra crispy Wii controller...

What I rather see is a mod though.. If someone can make a laptop out of an XBox, surely someone can combine a projector and the Wii for a portable gaming console? (with the added advantage of being able to run for periods of time away from power sources like real laptops)

Was I the only one who was disappointed in the dearth of interesting design ideas in this video? The creator apparently couldn't think of a better use of the Wii's side panel than a bunch of unimaginative fanwankery. I mean, gaudy fast food ads are one thing -- but devoting an entire skin design to Rawk Hawk? Yeahbuwha?

That said, I did like the retro Classic Controller designs very much, and it would be nice if a skin-maker like DecalGirl were to design something similar in a few months' time.

Why whould he use Pierce Brosnan for the 007 skin? Also, he jumped the gun on the 2006 Mets World Series skin.

At least the Wii does have the potential for decent skinnage (??). I've never been one for skinning though. It usually looks tacky.

Skins, I feel, are usuall "meh". They never have really looked more attractive than original manufactured good.

But DAMN those classic controller skins were NICE! :)

Thanks for all the great comments. As for the "lame" ideas, they were requests (as I said) from other people on Nintendo.com forums. I take no responsibility for the Mets one.. lol
