But just like Punch Out, there are patterns and advantages that you have against the CPU.

For instance, when fighting Shao Khan... use Lui Kang... shoot low fireballs and he'll almost ALWAYS do a flying uppercut, then just wait for him to fall and upper cut him.

Easy as pie, you can get flawless wins on the last guy just by taking advantage of the CPU consistencies...

Richard's comment about the Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3's "Cheap AI" really hits the nail on the head. I could not have phrased that better myself. However, I think SF2 is far more guilty of that to that point of utter disgust. Why should I pay TWICE the usual price of 400 points for UMK3? Doesn't that send a message to publishers that you are willing to take more price hikes on the already overpriced XBLA games?

I'm playing Lumines.. Eventhough I feel a bit jaded about the pricing of the game, I still can't stop thinking about the game when not playing it, and just want to play it as much as possible.. Such a fun game that's been marred by pricing..

Jake Good,

Yeah, I know you can take advantage of it. I just hate the sloppy programming. I want to be able to win with Sub-Zero. In both boss fights, his Ice Clone is removed from play. It's pretty bad that the programmers actually nullify a special move during a boss fight.

Imagine playing against M. Bison in SFII and everytime you land a dragon punch, nothing happens.

I'll get him eventually >:O

I've also been playing lots of Arcade Titles this week. I played quite a bit of DOOM earlier on in the week and lots of Lumines Live! I think that even though the pricing isn't good at all it is a great title. It would be nice if I could get into an Live battle game...it appears that no one is online...oh well. I won't be picking up any other games until GOW i think.

I'm playing Phantasy Star Universe, Splinter Cell: Double Agent and UMK3.

Richard: Khan really isn't that difficult to master. Against him the uppercut is your best friend, I usually start the round ducking and blocking. Wait for him to do his flying knee thing, uppercut him, then run and uppercut him again as he's getting up. You can usually do 2 or 3 in succession this way, just keep at it and you'll beat him sooner rather than later. For Motaro you can usualyl spam jump kicks at him and win in three rounds.

I have been playing Marvel: Ultimate Alliance. It is absolutely fantastic. Better than Legends 2, the graphics are great, the only complaint I have is the character balance. It's not really very accurate. Spiderman is very weak, while Deadpool is nearly invincible. Silver surfer should be more powerful than wolverine, but he's not. I havent had a chance to level these characters up, maybe it will even out as the game progresses. Other than that minor complaint the game is nearly flawless. I highly highly reccomend this if you have heard of comic books.

Got my 360 back, enjoying the Tony Hawk Project 8 demo, wow what a leap from the launch title! Will start making daily trips to my local toys r us. Hasnt been a game since teh year started that I haventn been able to buy there at least a week early, Hoping GOW is the same way, but probably not if it just went gold. If I get some copies I will post it here.

I've got a night off, so I'll hit up Lumines and probably some Ninety-Nine Nights which has been sitting around for a bit gathering dust.

Just added Ultimate Alliance to my game Q as it looks like a lot of fun...

Phantasy Star Universe... if it actually arrives today. (Delivery to the local shops has been delayed, EB guy told me to come in at 2PM today)

Mortal Kombat Armagedeon... if tehy get around to making it 360 compatible.

Dead rising... as soon as i can play that game for 30 minutes without getting a mini plasma burn in on the top left. damn new plasma.

UMK3... Damn it... I was 'cool' back then, and cool girls didn't play those games... why do i suck so bad... i can play other games in the series.

I guess that leaves NHL 07, for some hockey fun... or maybe go back and replay halo or halo 2...

... Or I could work.

I refuse to play MK3 any more unless they make the controls customizable. I can't use my Hori stick because of it, and I'm pissed.

Um, I might play Splinter Cell: DA. I'm taking my time with it, because the multiplayer doesn't interest me in the slightest. I'm pissed at the lack of campaign co-op.

I've been playing Killzone...why I keep going with it, I don't know [how much more "Grenade!" "Scatter!" "Keeping Firing" and the same recycled 3 enemies I can stand]. If this is what PS2 fans get instead of Halo...I feel bad for them. Seriously...

Marble Blast Ultra and UMK3 are all I play these days. And I just got my new OXM yesterday, got a taste of Rainbow Six, planning to play some more over the weekend.

And for the cheapass UMK3 bosses, my style:
For Motaro, I always back up, wait for him to jump at me or teleport near me, then uppercut. Repeat, repeat.
Shao Kahn, I get an uppercut in, then run at him while he's getting up, uppercut, repeat, repeat.

And this is only on novice, which is tough for me. Don't remember the game being this hard 10 years ago though...

Woot Woot Woot, Phantasy Star...

Got to EB... at about 3:10, they were opening boxes from there shipment today... 120 copies of FFXII, couldn't take the guy into selling me one... guess my feminine wiles are weakening...(even offered to bribe him).

But after standing there for 15 minutes he finally found the box with PSU in it and opened it for me and sold me a copy.

So yay :)

Anyone who complains about UMK3's cheap AI obviously never bought or played Midway Arcade Treasures 2. You think the trip down memory lane is worth your money and then you realize how wrong you were. They had to suck the quarters out of you some way and cheap AI was the answer of the day. It's only by revisiting these arcade classics we get to remember this all over again.

I agree on the AI for UMK3. It's like the first 3-4 AI guys are retards. You could beat them in your sleep. Then you get to that level where you can move an inch without getting your ass kicked.

I played through the novice level last nice and beat Shao Kahn for the achievement. It took me almost 90 minutes to do it. Very frustruating.
