Man...sony really needs to get rid of its kiddy image. I mean for real... Strawberry Shortcake: Adventures in the Land of Dreams...are you kidding?! I swear the kiddy games are just lame.

/sarcasm

If only the gamecube didn't have that damn handle and come in purple, some people might just get it.

I wish I still had a PS2. I had no idea they were releasing Victorious Boxers 2 in the US. Ippo's Road to Glory was so much fun. Damn.

Wow, so they're actually releasing a game on the Cube? I was sure that Nintendo abandoned it.. Oh wait, they did, Need For Speed is made by EA.

Btw, look at that stellar PSP line-up!

ff12 and Children of Mana.

I bet the mana series is gonna go exclusive to Wii. This is based soley on Squenix saying they'll spread the love around, and the fact that the Mana series is the oft-overlooked of the Squenix staples.

So basically just conjecture.

Whenever any Sony fanboy mentions the Cube's color, I point out that that particular color is discontinued. PS2, however, is now shipping in pink. =P

Have you not heard, they've given the gamecube a new case and a threw in a few wii extras, and apparently people are camping out to try and pre-order one.

OMFG, bob (#2) you are the biggest homo I've seen on these boards. I doubt you will ever read this, and if you comment on it, I won't respond. There is this thing called choice. Don't want a purple gamecube, guess what GET A F***ING BLACK ONE. or get a platinum one. People like you still complaining that GCN came out in purple are what makes these boards ignorate. You piss me off and I hope you burn in hell.

Not trying to bash Nintendo but can someone remind me again why the DS Lite is selling so well? I own one but there are only a few games that I ever play. Same with the PSP but for some reason that gets a lot more flack.

Wow, there's a pretty good selection of games for you guys this week. Final Fantasy XII (PS2), Children of Mana (DS), Every Extend Extra (PSP), GTA: Vice City Stories (PSP) and Power Stone Collection (PSP) are all hits on that list.

Lots of PSP love this week.

Cuz its 100 dollars cheaper (or is it 60-70 now), the games are 10-15 dollars cheaper, they load right up and are fun to play.

Library is important, but it really isnt EVERYTHING. The allmighty dollar plays into it too.

@Silver R. Wolfe

There aren't as many Kirby fans as Mario or Zelda fans, but the GC is still getting Kirby Adventure http://cube.ign.com/objects/716/716496.html

I wouldn't say they've completely abandoned the Cube, but yeah, they more or less have.

@6 KineticOnline - funny comment but sadly its true. My opinion on nintendo is they make fun games but horrible hardware. When n64 came out i was hugely disappointed in lack of cd drive, when the cube came out i was disappointed it had no dvd drive, now with wii it has no hdtv support. If they didnt own the gameboy and ds line they would be where sega is right now. If they ever loose the handheld market expect them to go the way sega went. and atari also.

To those saying Nintendo has given up on the Cube - there's still that little game called Zelda: Twilight Princess. Sure they're only selling it online, but even then it'll still sell craploads more than most other games me-bets.

Why do people buy the DS Lite? Because it's awesome. I received Children of Mana early for review and it's pretty sweet so far. Just finished playing through Mega Man ZX and that's one of the top games of the year for me.

Mostly everything this week is 'meh' for me. I'll just wait patiently for the less than three weeks until Wii. I would love to get excited for PS3 but there's no way in hell I'll be able to afford one for a long time.

Daniel, the GameCube version of Twilight Princess is still being sold in retail stores in North America, Europe, and Australia (EB Games only for AU, though). The "online only" deal is for Japan only.

I can't wait for FFXII, been playin that leaked copy for soem 25 hrs now, but with the videos compressed poorly causing the sound to crack or something its just not the same.

I find the new combat system very refreshing, after playing WOW for about a month I really started to appreciate not having battle screens anymore.

not to mention at Futureshop they are offering a free artbook or something and a 10$ discount at launch :D

what are you retarted??! sony isnt the one with the kiddy image, fucking gamecube is. You go to any retailer in America and look at both shelves (the ps2 vs GC, hell vs xbox as well) and you'll notice the fruityness of one system game shelve compared to the other. By the way im not taking sides here, it might seem like it but im not. Its just pointing out an obvious fact. Sure ps2 as well as xbox both have kid games, but not in a overwhelming flow as GC.

John.

Did you NOT note the sarcasm? Perhaps the "/sarcasm" wasn't clear enough.

Anyway, I will be picking up FFXII tomorrow, and I'm hoping it's worth my pre-ordering it. To be honest, I'm more looking forward to FFIII on DS. The promise of a new system on XII made me plunk down the cash.

I wish people cared less about what systems look like, or what games they have that they won't buy, and more about what they WILL buy and enjoy.

Does GCN have kiddy games? Sure. Do I have to buy them? Nope. Buy what you like. Who cares about the rest of the library. We all know it's lack of 3rd party support in general, not kiddy games, that hurt the cube. Not to mention that the damn thing isn't even dead. Dreamcast. That died. GCN didn't. Can't really call a system dead if you can still walk out and buy a new one.

And on the DS/PSP thing, I think it's just a matter of what titles people enjoy more. I only have about 4 DS titles (then again, I've only had my lite for a month) but the ones I have, I play often. I play mario kart more than anything, and it's just a good gaming experience. PSP looks like they've got some nice titles in their lineup, though. Ah, how I wish lumines was multiplatform. I'm not willing to buy a PSP just for it, and I'm not willing to buy an 360 for it, either.

Oooh! Chicken little! I would love to have that one. I finished the gameboy advance Chicken Little too soon so I was left yearning for more. Is Jack Black the gonna play the character in the Nacho Libre game? I like sticking to the classics. So I guess Tom and Jerry Tales is on my list.
