I played the demo off a download station.

I wasn't impressed. IDK why, but it wasn't even remotely fun. Just tapping the touchscreen somewhat to the beat.

Maybe its like Guitar Hero in that it gets better @ harder levels.

Friedriches, that's pretty much how all music games are. Go play DDR on Light/Beginner for an hour or two and you'll get pretty bored.

I'd buy Ouendan, but not this. The music just plain sucks.

I'm a big fan of rhythm games, but the demo gave me the same impression. I didn't mind the music, though. Looking at the tracklist, most of the songs sound a lot more tolerable than J-Rock. The gameplay wasn't that fufilling after all the Ouenden hype. Granted, I'll end up buying it. Music games do tend to get more fun at increased difficulty.

Okay, you can't base your opinion of EBA on the demo... it only lets you play around a minute and it's on (what I'm assuming) the beginner level. Based on Ouendan, the game really gets addictive when you're rapidly tapping in the harder modes. Ouendan is my favorite DS game hands down and I'm sure EBA will not disappoint. At the Nintendo Fusion Tour, I got to play the level with the pug and the level with the babysitter and both stories are hilarious. The music was pretty catchy too.

So you can't judge the game by the demo, and imo the ad linked to in this post is pretty bad (im not sure about the standard of US game ads)...

I'm thinking this game is strongly targetted at Ouendan fans - i.e. people who already know about the game and are likely to buy it regardless.

Maybe I'll borrow it from a friend...

I took some video of a level called “The Christmas Gift”. I couldn’t believe how deep it was. They were definitely trying to pull on the players heart strings. It did mine.
