Sure, Gears of War makes a great videogame, but it makes an even better lunchbox. Joystiq got their hands on the first images of the impending tidal wave of Gears merchandise (all of these are made by Mad Catz). The image above is in fact not a lunchbox, but rather a "console crate," presumably for hauling your 360 to Gears of War LAN parties. It looks like there will actually be 4 different faceplates, with 3 of them exclusive to different stores. See each faceplate after the break.

The above plate -- to be found at Best Buy -- is probably our favorite of the bunch. It looks good vertical or horizontal and isn't specific enough to make it super nerdy.

This Circuit City plate doesn't quite have the same magic. Sure, there's some dramatic tension, but it only works in the horizontal position and anyone unfamiliar with Gears will wonder what the hell it is.

This GameStop plate is pretty nice, using more color than Circuit City's or Best Buy's. We like the action and detail in the background.

Finally, for the Gears of War fanatic, here's a an entire 360 skin. If your commitment to Gears stretches further than a puny faceplate can cover, you can get this bad boy and convert your whole console into a piece of "destroyed beauty." We're not sure if this one exclusive to any store or not, but we'll find out soon enough. What do you think of this stuff? Anybody plan on buying one?
