"Okay, seriously, does anyone buy faceplates?"

Never did, but these faceplates and skins just may change all of that for me.

I've always thought that buying a faceplate was sort of weird, because it leaves the rest of the console bare. I like that they're offering skins along with the faceplate. Perhaps I'll pick that up.

Came very close to buying the Best Buy faceplate today....but it was at a Toy's R Us (no Best Buys where I am located, just FutureShop).

Both my consoles have faceplates (Nyko print your own and a camouflage plate). I will most likey get the Halo 3 one on lauch....I like to change the look of my unit. Good idea by Microsoft, but they should have made the entire case as easy to customize.

"To collect all four faceplates, you'll have to journey to Best Buy, Circuit City, and Gamestop, as each retailer has been stocked with an exclusive plate."

unless there is hidden text, I count only 3. Not to mention there are only 3 face plates displayed

There are 4. The one other is with the skinz combo.

I would get the console crate though not because of GoW, but I need a protective case to lug the 360 around.

Wow, I must say that the 3rd faceplate is pretty sharp looking. Nice use of color and everything, really looks good. If it weren't for my Chrome faceplate I have already, I'd pick it up. They really ought to do some cool stuff for vertically-oriented people though.

I've never bought a faceplate before, but I'll probably be picking up the GS faceplate at launch.

I wanted a faceplate that represented a good game and had a lot of color; the gamestop faceplate might just do that, sepecially if I can find skins.

Still, im gonna play through GoW and see if it warrants the purchase before I do anything. I have yet to buy a faceplate, but dang is it tempting. And i'd proly download a GoW theme too so they match.

I picked up the GameStop GoW faceplate during their after dark event for GoW. At first I contemplated whether to sell it at eBay or keep it to myself. Eventually, I opened it and was appalled of the flimsiness of the faceplate itself. When I put on my 360 it didnt snap on properly and the USB flap was loose. This thing cheaply made thing cost me $21.64 and since GameStop doesnt buy back faceplates, I am offically ripped off by Mad Catz.

Anyone know if these skins are easily removable and re-useable?

@ xx JP Racer xx

Those console skins are really bad about sticking to the system and becoming hard to get off, probably mostly due to the heat, the glue becomes fused and the outer part comes off, but the glue stays, I strongly advise against them.

Knowing Madcatz, this PoS will probably break while you're not even using it.

I just cannot imagine why one would want a faceplate. I would rather put that money towards a game, duh.

"Okay, seriously, does anyone buy faceplates?"

Judging by how much some of the rarer ones go for on ebay (upwards of $200,) I'm gonna say yeah.
