I don't get it. Nothing happened when I pressed A and B.

LOL.
I can't wait for this game, but I've denied myself the right to watch the videos so nothing is spoilt.

I think this might just beat Oot and the character models look absoultely stunning. One thing in which i hope it beats SOTC is the horse animation and its role in the story.

We got full orchestra, right? Awesome, wether or not it is, it still sounds great (this is internet streaming quality, so I figure it will sound a bit better on my television).

Skwurl, I believe the engines are exactly the same, but sources from Nintendo are mixed. Different articles on the same websites have different answers to that question.

Designerbradr, just the fact that the Triforce is a real world symbol shows how deap Zelda goes into our own culture.

I came...explosively.

But I really wish I didn't watch the opening title seequence. I should of controlled myself and waited. Anyway, the one thing I noticed the most about the title sequence was the music. Some very atmospheric vocal work there, and I think it sounded like the used some real intruments too (but it's a bit low in quality so I can't tell for sure). One of the biggest changes I've alwats wanted to happen to a Zelda game is the implementation of some quality orchestral scores. MIDI is good to an extent. But IMO, nothing beats out hearing a rising symphony culminating to a climatic clash as you land a final blow to an enemy. The trailers that have some out so far seemed have given me the impression that we can look forward to some orchestra music as you plau.

I am really digging this art style. I thought the black and white twilight world was neat, but this really blows it out of the water.

In before, NEXT GEN BLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!! ^_^

I have great faith in the Wii but I'm going to wait for the GC version. For one, I still don't think the control scheme on the Wii will be as natural as it for the GC. Secondly, I don't have enough money to buy a Wii.

So yeah, when Nov. 19 comes around I am offically cutting myself off from the internet. If anybody spoils the game for me, I swear, I'm going to shove the nearest handsized object down their throats.

Pretty nice graphics, but you must admit, those horse animations were crap. I wish they looked a bit more like the horse from Shadow of Collossus (best video game horse I have ever seen). Other than that, I am looking forward to playing this game. :P

@ McWeen

Yes, it is a departure from the "Traditional" Zelda series

But that is because there is no "Traditional" Zelda series

Each Console Zelda has been a departure from the last
Zelda 1 laid the groundwork
Zelda 2 ran with a mostly side-scrolling game
LttP introduced the transdimensional concept
OoT introduced 3D elements
MM brought in multiple characters (with the masks)
WW made a broader world (the whole overworld as open as Hyrule Field or Termina Field)
Now TP brings in Motion-sensitive Combat (although the GC version is essentially a ramped-up OoT, but that's still bitchin')

Its just like that article the other day where ppl were complaining about FFXII being a "departure" when they realize that there is no "Traditional" FF, except FFI

I remember when Oot first came out, I had just got out of school and my brother came to get me. We literally ran home to play it. That particular zelda brings back so many fond memories of just experiencing Links world in full 3d. Fantastic for it's time and no one can deny it. And for those who are just starting to play video games and want to compare zelda to any other titles with the same formula just know this: Zelda was here first. So if anyone is copying someone, it's going to be the other developer copying nintendos masterpiece. Nintendo was here long before Microsoft and Sony anyway, even though I'm coming off sounding like a fanboy now, the fact of the matter is, they were here first. Sure they didn't start off making video games but still. I personally think Nintendo will out-do themselves with the upcoming zelda. Gears of War will be great on Xbox, along with Halo 3. Phantasy Star Universe is quite addictive too. Metal Gear Solid 4 is going to be one of the greatest games to hit the not so overpriced Ps3 (the cheaper console will be useless though and will, in the long run cost you more to upgrade). For those who are thinking why I haven't included final fantasy in there is becuase I'm too stuck on the old turn-based rpgs. I hate what they've done to a good series, honestly. 1-9 was good, then it went downhill from there....Alright I think I'm done with my rant, I tend to do that :(

This says a lot about art design. I honestly didn't think I would say wow about anything on Wii visually, and I was fine with that, but coming from an art background (and obvously not a spelling/grammer background) the visual style of Zelda is amazing to watch. It proves you need a good creative eye to design games, not just raw horse power, because if I had to spend 24 hours watching Dead Rising in HD or Zelda in standard, Zelda would win every frickin time.

Completely agree with Munk, I was just thinking about this after seeing the trailer. I remember the Thanksgiving of 98, picking up my Gold cartridge copy at Toys 'R' Us an drunning that bad boy back home and slamming it into my 64. Bliss proceeded for many years from that single cartridge, the best game ever made.

Seriously though, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess for Wii and GameCube for that matter is going to be one of the most incredible titles of all time. This game has “Best Game Ever” potential written all over it. Way to go Nintendo!

I'm actually going to go with the lone dissenters on this one. I still have the box with the shiny crap on it and the gold cartridge (even the gold plastic bag it came in)--first game I pre-ordered ever. And I was not disappointed, TOOT was and still is the shite for a Zelda fan that grew up on the original NES, SNES, and Gameboy versions of the series. I remember picking it up at the mall and running into a girl I had recently met in college and I wasn't even that embarrassed about it because of how monumental that game was in the world of Interactive Entertainment. That game alone was better than EVERY SINGLE Playstation game, without question. I can still play the fishing portion just to relax. Long story short, I think the series has gone downhill since then. I didn't care for Majora's Mask, it was fun but the time stuff was too distracting for me and I never finished it. But Wind Waker turned me off to Zelda since they announced the look of the graphics--I have yet to even consider another Zelda title since. The combination of those ridiculous graphics with the Tingle shit from MM and now in the present Link's popular with the fruits and the title has "Princess" in it (the fairy stuff was bad enough in TOOT but that was a clever way to put a Help function into the game)--I'm out. I watched these trailers but it's too little too late. I would've been excited if this was 2001 or whenever Wind Waker came out but as it is they're just bland and boring. I found myself saying "That's it?" (OTOH, I watch the GOW commercial daily because I just can't get over the song/graphics combo--now that's fucking AMAZING) Same ol fairy help, same ol boss battles, shooting arrows, getting the triforce, saving Zelda. This is the game that Wind Waker should've been, but I'm just not interested any more. It's the same damn thing all the time, the series hasn't remained fresh--there's something seriously wrong when the two most recent Gameboy color versions (Oracle, Ages) of Zelda are more fun than the 3D console versions... On the other hand, I am beyond pumped for Gears of War and Call of Duty 3--maybe I've just outgrown Zelda. Gasp, I know, but I just don't get the same thing from this stuff anymore that all you Ninty kids are raving over. I wish Nintendo would grow up--just a little, it doesn't have to be THAT much. I grew up on Nintendo, why didn't they keep up or ever catch up? They can still have the Mario Plumbing Party 8328 games for the kids but why can't they just make a game that's mature? Not 3rd party or 2nd party, either. I want a mature title from Nintendo, created by Nintendo. Just one. Until that day, I'm holding off.

@Heinrich.

For starters, I thought Wind Waker was excellent. Disregarding it based off of the graphics without touching the game is a shameful mistake in my opinion. I do think you should try playing it.

I suppose I may be in the minority but I've never understood what people mean when they want a mature title. Do you like Gears of War and Call of Duty 3 because they have guns and blood? I'm not sure why that would be a good thing. Perhaps my tastes are simply strange to you guys but I hardly see that as definitive of "mature". I think they will be excellent and fun games but I don't understand what about them makes them mature.

Mario Party is a kiddy game for unsophisticated youths but comparing Twilight Princess to that is a horrific blashphemy. I don't see why this game isn't mature. It deals with the same theme as the other two games you're excited about, good vs. evil. It's just a matter of execution and from what I can tell, those games are just more graphic and bloody. Please tell me what people like you want when you envision a "mature" Legend of Zelda game. Seriously. I have no idea what that would look like.

Moreover, I think something extremely realistic with voice acting and blood would be a betrayal to the Zelda formula. I find it charming because of how simple yet complex it is. It's very much like a fantasy novel. Perhaps you aren't into the genre. But I assure you, fantasy novels can be very complex and "mature".

Also, although Zelda generally retains the same "save the princess" formula, I think the way it is portrayed in each game is very unique. The atmosphere is simply different and the puzzles and enemies are always fresh and challenging. If anything, the vastly different worlds in each game make it anything but repetitive and tried. I guess some people can't appreciate this but I personally do welcome and revel in the change that each new Zelda brings.

And in my opinion, first person shooters are far more repetitive or have the potential to be far more repetitive than Zelda.

JayT, you must be one of sony's biggest fanboys. I'm am positive that the development of twilight princess goes back far beyond that of the both those games. I own Okami and SOTC and I have to say that if any body is copying anybody its them. OoT had the open world on horse back concept way back in 1997. The duel world concept and transformation into animals goes even farther back in "Link to the Past". Have fun in your world of fanboyism. As much as I like both the games you mentioned they do not surpass quality Zelda franchise.

Might be too early to think about the next zelda but as with any console if the gc can be pushed, the wii can be pushed further.

Well if you are too old to play zelda heinrich, then I think you must be tool old to play video games at all.

I think you really mean that you are now too imature. See you bash zelda for being more of the same, but you are really excited to play Call of duty 3. A game which is not only more of the same, its just ye anotehr one of the hundeds of WW2 shooters out there.

All you want is blood and violence with no story. Sorry, but if thats your idea of being mature, then Id rather go sit at the kids table and have fun.

Wow, Heinrich...I hope you were being sarcastic, because you sound like the stereotypical cliché of some moron gamer who thinks Blood+Guts=Totally Mature.
I mean, Majora's Mask is bad in your eyes because it's to different...but yet, all the other Zelda games are dull because they're just more of the same? RUH?!
And honestly, skipping out on Wind Waker is the biggest mistake you could have made...especially for a reason as petty as the graphical style. How sad. WW easily had the best game mechanics of ANY Zelda game to date.

Any any rate, those trailers look great and I can't wait for this game.

Wind Waker was too easy, in the end. It is lots of fun going at it with only 3 hearts though. That was a fun trick. Funny about the whole saving Zelda thing, though. There are quite a few games, including Majora's Mask that didn't involve saving Zelda at all. Zelda: Link's Awakening barely involved Zelda as well. And even if you are kidding, Heinrich, this is for all those other people who dislike Twilight Princess's name. THE NAME OF THE SERIES IS FEMALE. Legend of Zelda. A princess. If "Twilight Princess" upsets you, then you have issues. Anyway. Now that I finished my rant, I will go on to say I look forward to loading that intro up on my widescreen with surround going on. That will be excellent times.

No I wasn't kidding in the least. What's mature?--the opposite of Nintendo. I think the disconnect here is your childish assumptions that "mature" == blood and guts. I prefaced my opinion with the history of Zelda games to me, my favorite, etc. but that means nothing just because I happen to be a WWII buff and my favorite type of game is FPS's. In regards to freshness, I get what I expect out of FPS's, I love the strategy of employing techniques to shoot the other guy in COD2 online. You could easily substitute a dash of color instead of a bullet and trumpets for guns in a game like that and the visceral experience of cat and mouse would not change much. You kids are missing the points, I love all types of games but certain ones are my favorite. Why is it SO wrong to have an opinion these days? Why can't I like mindless action to relax after a long day at work? Why am I wrong to crave experiences which are a little more interesting than the sugarey sweetness of Yoshi or Navi? Why is it against the laws of fanboys to criticize Nintendo? I shouldn't have to define the meaning of the word "mature" to you but obviously you don't get it. When a piece of entertainment, be it a movie, book or video game, contains "mature themes" it means topics and situations that an older, more mature audience can relate to. Requiem for a Dream is "mature", All Quiet on the Western Front is "mature," GRAW is "mature." I want Nintendo to make a game that is "mature" like any number of mature entertainment choices that exist. I see that I am alone.

85, you're not alone, but I can't say I'm with you either. Honestly, I'd rather Nintendo "stick to their guns" than try too hard to make hardcore mature games, I feel it would take too much away from Nintendo's image of being "family friendly", an image that both Sony and Microsoft lack. Let Nintendo run it's current course with mostly "Everyone" games, a lot more "non-gamers games" and the occasional "mature" style game. I can't tell you how much I look forward to Metroid Prime 3 (2 was good, but lacked the atmosphere that made the original fantastic, I thought the original was a better Single player experience than HALO.)

And BTW, Call Of Duty 3 and Red Steel, both "mature" games, are coming to Wii on launch day. And reading the previews, Zelda : TP is gonna be the best one yet, easily a contender for "Game Of The Year", even if it has to compete with HALO3 and Gears Of War for that title. ;)
