Dave Navarro to promote Guitar Hero II in LA
Red Octane announced today that lick-strumming Dave Navarro will be at Best Buy in West Los Angeles on Monday, November 6 at 10:30 PM to help promote the new Guitar Hero II. The game will then be released at midnight, November 7. GameDaily reports: "The former Jane's Addiction and The Red Hot Chili Peppers guitarist will be signing everything from Guitar Hero SG controllers and Guitar Hero game copies to T-shirts and posters. Among the Guitar Hero II songs is Stop, as made famous by Navarro and Jane's Addiction."So which is better; RHCP's "Higher Ground" (from the original Guitar Hero) or Jane's Addiction's "Stop"? And for Navarro and game fans in the LA area, the store in question is located at 11301 West Pico Boulevard.

This seems like a bad move to me. You should be careful, Dave. One minute, you're promoting Guitar Hero, and the next thing you know, you find your whole career undone by some unknown who turns the mother out. And then you're washed up. That's right. A has been. I'm throwing down the gauntlet, "Dave".
I'm coming to rock your face off.

Dave Navarro is a has-been. The only gig he's got now is reality TV. I've always loved Perry... even if he constantly breaks the band up.
And the comparison between those two songs? Not a good Jane's Addiction song to use as comparison. I'd probably say 'Higher Ground' wins out over those two.
What they really needed to put in Guitar Hero II was 'Three Days'. If you haven't heard it, go give it a listen... it's probably Jane's Addiction's deepest song. You'll see what I mean. ^_^

RHCP...???
Higher ground was only covered by them.. Its a Stevie Wonder song..
Navarro was a great guitarist with Janes. Chili peppers ... bah..

Too late, he already is washed up.

ya like posted above, higher ground is a cover and not an original RHCP song.
Anyway, Janes Addiction>>>>>>>>>>>>RHCP

Not only that, but Navarro didn't play on "Higher Ground". John Frusciante played guitar on that track.
Navarro was only with RHCPs for one album.
Now that that's said, "Stop" is a better song.

I agree Zoe, a great track.
Their first three albums had a monopoly on my ears back in my youth.
oh the liberty caps I chomped...

Actually, while much of RHCP's 'Higher Ground' is similar or the same as Stevie's song lyrically, the song is more of a tribute deal than an actual cover. If you actually go listen to the lyrics, at least a third of the words (dare I say, maybe even half of them) are not in Stevie's 'Higher Ground'.
In any case, comparing Jane's Addiction to ANYTHING the Red Hot Chili Peppers have done is like comparing apples to dead hamsters (respectively). RHCP's is not a horrible band... but they just don't stack up against Jane's.
