Joystiq Zeitgeist: Seriously scary dead system reviews (Oct. 28 - Nov. 3)

Welcome to the Joystiq Zeitgeist, a new weekly feature that quickly runs down the five or so most important stories of the week, as judged by the Joystiq staff. Let's get right to it.

The two-day Serious Games Summit convenes just outside Washington D.C. Gamers everywhere quickly note the fact, then go back to playing Final Fantasy XII.

All Hallow's Eve gives gamers everywhere a chance to dress up as their favorite character, reminisce about scary gaming moments and, uh, give out brain-shaped trophies.

Long-running Half-Life-based comic "Concerned" wraps up, and creator Chris Livingston talks to us about it. Gamers everywhere wonder who will be the next one to fall off the webcomics roundup.

As their system gets ready to ship, Nintendo finally nails down 32 disc games and 30 virtual console games for release by year's end. Gamers everywhere threaten boycotts over the exclusion of a downloadable Clu Clu Land.

Initial impressions of final hardware and games begin leaking out for the PS3 and Wii. Gamers everywhere, tired of waiting, fly into a jealous rage over images of journalists opening boxes.

Aren't you guys getting a little heavy on these "review" features?

Wouldn't a feature called "Joystiq Zeitgeist" make more sense if it were judged by the readers? Perhaps you could look at which stories get the most (useful) comments and encourage elaboration of the discussion, rather than just repeat stories everyone has already read.
