VorpalMonkey,

I guess you didn't hear about 18 dungeons and 60 to 150 hours of real gameplay.

Porting this to wii isn't what caused the delay. It was delayed to add content, and since its release was gonna be so close to wii launch, they decided to do a bit of extra work and port it.

"His problem is that everyone of your comments allude to the 'fact' that you have to be a fanboy to enjoy Nintendo games. You also constantly jab Nintendo with every chance you get - something that gets incredibly old fast. If it's not the 'flash' point and click comment, it's something else, such as "not a handheld or that cheesy 4 swords"."

Hey, nothing against handhelds (loved Minish Cap), but, for a premier franchise like Zelda you want it to be on the best hardware you have... ie. your console. Its always been like this, the flagship game of the series goes on the console.

And, the reality of it is that Zelda is no-longer the end-all for action RPGs (as it was in NES, SENS, and N64). There are many other options availble today, and the market as a whole has expanded into other genres with similarities. It may be game of the year, but, it is now one of many excellent options availble to you if you're into Zelda-like games. Zeldaholics (seriously, this isnt derogatory) will eat it up though; others, may or may not like it.. its not a given anymore.

And, 4 Swords was not a proper Zelda game, but, a spin-off used to give fans something to chew on until ZTP.

"Seriously, fuck off already."

I (heart) you too.

I'm surprised that everyone is so impressed with the graphics. I bet this will be a great game, but I can't help wondering, "What could this have looked like on a PS3/360?" The only reason this looks pretty is because people were expecting Game-Cube-quality graphics instead of something on par with, say, GoW. I guess I just want to have my cake and eat it too.

I don't understand why the game looks identicle on GC and Wii, couldn't they have done ANYTHING? Increased the view distance? Anti-aliasing?

I've never played a Zelda game before but I've preordered this one (+ a wii) due to fantastic word-of-mouth advertising, hopefully it's worth it.

We're so impressed because all the MS and Sony fanboys have been spinning wii graphics as being on par with the colecovision since forever.

Your thoughts and/or feelings about my posts are irrelevant; any acknowledgement of those would be a waste of my time.

Have a great day!

LMAO.

And yet you're still here...responding after writing a 4 paragraph post.

Funny how that works.

wolf elf? Yeah, I bet you're the type of idiot he is so oblivious to everything that you'd stand in a burning house and try to convince yourself its only a holograph.
If you don't like zelda, thats cool, just don't waste your time trying to bash it in a room full of zelda fans. You must know its good if you're wasting this much time trying to convince people that its not.... if it sucked, you wouldn't have to tell us, it would speak for its self, like Perfect Dark, its just understood that game sucks (the 360 one any how). so stop wasting your time already.

Who copied who on the wolf thing, Zelda or Okami?

Odd that they both have a wolf as the main character (to some degree), and in the video you even see the Zelda wolf dig something up like the Okami wolf.

Now I wonder if Zelda will get those awesome motion-drawn weapons from Okami?

Okami rocks, can't wait for this Zelda!

Actually skwurl he said your thoughts and feelings are a waste of his time which I would totally have to agree with. I know it is hard, or in your case impossible, to be man enough to accept someone else's opinion but get over it. And assuming zeldaholics is derogatory is something the infamous Jack Thomson might say. Seriously its like him saying bully is a bad game and should be banned. It's just a game, what he said are just words. Stop being so whiny.

Oh shutup jaysins, just shutup. You don't even know what you're talking about

I don't know if you're new to these baords, but '>' is a notrious anti-nintendo troll who constantly bashes anything that doesn't have the Sony logo on it. I also never said his zeldaholic remark was derogatory.

I just matter of factly pointed out that his infamous reputation on these boards is irritating and repetitive that reeks of someone who had their family murdered by a Nintendo employee.

Sorry you can't see that.

Tell me, is being an alchoholic considered good? Is being considered addicted to anything considered good?

Then why should we assume a "Zeldaholic" isn't derogatory?

Holy smokes Ganon!

I apologise to all who may have been offended by the term 'Zeldaholic'; i used it to save time from typing out 'someone who really likes Zelda to the nth degree' everytime i wanted to instill that charaterstic upon the population i was referring to at the time.

So, my freakin' bad.

Its only considered bad if it affects you way of life. An im pretty sure that being addicted to Zelda won't affect your health.

A little healthy addiction isn't necessary a bad thing. Zeldaholic isn't negative. My friend is one of the most die hard nintendo fanboys you will ever meet and he would proudly consider himself a "zeldaholic." Holic is just the compulsively need to do something, dictionary.com if you don't believe me. Playing Ocarina of time got compulsive so at the time that would have been an appropriate term for me. Same thing that happens with any good game, just with zelda they have such a good string going and such a loyal fan base that some of their fans do obsess over it like some fans were obsessing of the new star wars movies to be released. It is a fair enough term to describe some people. W.e get over it. I don't mind the debate over it but people like skwurl are just so whiny and obnoxious about it, it gets annoying. Who cares if he is a little biased, we all are. I can't understand how one would take insult over a term like that. It is like Jack Thomson getting upset over bully and then bitching and moaning about it to the courts. Man up and get over it. Like I said they are not cnn I rather like when they poke fun at a company. If anything sony gets it the worst on here and nintendo the most support imo.

I think some of the people on these boards are going to realize there's going to be a generation gap between those who got into gaming early, and those that most recently came into gaming. (age really doesn't apply, just when you bought your first system).

There will be those who got to experience the days of yore with the 2600, NES, SNES, Genesis and those that came in a bit later (PS2, Xbox, GC) and frankly/sadly will have a totally different taste in games due to what was popular at the time. Back then it was about graphics AND gameplay/story. Now it's about dishing out snazzy graphics and sexxing up games, and thus you're going to have gamers who want the latest in graphics/etc.

And sadly there's going to be gamers who never got into Zelda or played OoT of even LttP. Which imho is really sad since those two are excellent games and still are. Gamers are being pulled to believe all you need is graphics and nothing else, case in point on why EA is still making a crap load of money. It's not their fault, it's how they came to like games.

We just have to deal with it, hell there's going to be a generation that says Star Wars sucks, or won't even have heard about it (though I doubt Lucas will see to that never happens).

Frankly I would not be surprised at all if (we took out the Wii controller concept and said it was just another next-gen console like PS3/360) we hit another video game crash as we did in the early 1980's, hell it could still happen with the wii.

1) This trailer looks kickass. It looks more like a movie trailer than a game trailer, which is HOW THIS SHIT NEEDS TO BE MARKETED TO HIT NEW AUDIENCES. A+ job, Nintendo!

2) The gameplay looks FUCKING FANTASTIC. I can't wait to try this out, ESPECIALLY because of the Wiimote.
This. Game. Will. Change. The. Way. People. See. Video. Games.

3) The music is fine.

4) The graphics are fine too. Sure, they aren't mind-blowing, but they're better than the Gamecube. Probably at least on par with the better Xbox games like Halo 2. The best thing about this is that there's no risk of falling into the Uncanny Valley, and the graphics are still sharp enough to be engaging.

I've been excited for so many new games, and seen so many new trailers and teasers and stuff, it's hard to really get excited.

Then I saw this.

Seriously, I felt butterflies in my stomach and goosebumps while watching this trailer. I've been disappointed by the constant delays and super-secrecy surrounding this game, excited more about the Wii in general than Zelda:TP.

Well, now this trailer has brought me back into it. 15 days and counting.

I don't see where people get off saying this game doesn't look nice. Those are some incredibly beautiful graphics. For anyone who's interested, in an interview with some Nintendo folks, we were given a few facts about this game: It's at least twice as long as OoT. (OoT was around 35 hours long, which would make it around 70 hours in length, and that's not to completion). It has 9 "major" dungeons, along with many, many smaller dungeons in-between these and interlaced throughout the game. Wind Waker had 5 dungeons, to give you an idea. The interview can be found at http://www.gamevideos.com/video/id/7293

Despite the "little to no" graphical improvements from the GC version, this game's graphics floored me nontheless. The GC version will probably be one of the best looking games on the cube. Just like Shadow of the Colossus, it showed me graphical power I didn't know the system was capable of.

What confuses me though, if there is nothing different than a controller scheme (which I don't think takes up a bunch of disc space?) between the Gamecube and Wii version, and considering that a gamecube discs holds about 1.5GB(on a single layer+sided disc..are there dual-layered GC games?) of data and a Wii disc holds at least 4.5GB(single layer+sided), what is all that extra space going to be used for?

I may be missing something but if there is not much of a graphical improvement, what will the Wii version have that needs it to be on a regular DVD? I'm sure there has to be something extra besides the graphics that fills this space up or something? I don't know. Any ideas?

Anywho, i'm definitely getting this game. I already have it pre-ordered, now I just need to scrounge up the money to get it on launch *gulp*..I still need more money to get the Wii first. I grew up with alot of the Zelda games (faves: LttP+OoT) and can't wait to see if this one tops the Ocarina of Time's place.
