Bought it and while the price is steep (would have been nice to get a few months of live service for free or something), the product really delivers. Great quality and the comfort level of it gets better each time i've used it.

How do you charge this thing?
There's something like a play&charge cable?
Does it use regular batteries?

It has a non rmovable internal battery and a DC input for charging.

I love this thing, its not too heavy. The sound isnt as good as wired, but its not bad. The way the lights flash when its charging is cool too.

I don't need the wireless headset right now, but I think I will get one next year (Penny Arcade notwithstanding). I think it will be useful once some of the more esoteric controllers (wheels, guitars, yokes?) hit the market. I mean, seriously, if Han had used a wired headset, would he have been able to blow Vader off of Luke's tail? I think not!

I'm not going to buy it. A wire from my controller to my headset isn't the end of the world.

I agree with #6. Seems kind of pointless. It is very nice though. Gonna pick up the racing wheel this week though. I'm sure my wrists will thank me after those marathon PGR sessions.

I'm getting one for Christmas. In fact, i just placed the order.

The reason i want one is that i want a completely wireless solution, wireless headphones, wireless headset and wireless controller.

And er...wireless camera? No, but it's going to sit on the console, so no worries.

you've always been able to see the battery status of your wireless controller, it was on the xbox guide thing in the top right hand corner.... dont know if maybe you mean battery life as in how long it will last in a time estimate, i havent checked my 360 for it. But its had the little battery indicator with the 3 bars for as long as i can remember. but im looking forward to getting a wireless headset, specially since from memory ill be able to use it with my phone aswell can't i? probably get it with G.O.W

to #9

when you check your battery life now, you'll notice that it has a controller icon beside it. so i figure that when you hook in wit the headset, there is a headset icon. it'll be while before i get one. having it wired kinds of remind me to keep the controller in my hand in case of one of those control throwing moments :)

I wonder if that DC connector is the only way to charge it; shame they don't seem to use the 'play & charge' connector.

I like the idea, as I don't like the 'puck' on the bottom of my 360 controller, so I'll probably get it to try out.

bumpoh-

There's now two battery life icons, one for your controller, one for the headset. And no, it does not work with your cell phone. It's the same wireless tech as the controllers, not bluetooth, so it only works with the 360, which bummed me out a bit... but I like the headset.

Audio quality is a bit better than wired to me, nothing spectacular however. Hearing someone with a wired headset through the wireless ear piece doesn't really sound better- but sure you do to them. You benefit from less ambient "noise" than before, and not having to worry about your constant binge snacking annoying your buddies.

That and now I don't have to bring my controller with me to the fridge anymore...

@11 - the DC adapter is the only way to charge it and you can't use it while its charging (or at least thats what it said on the manual)

I got mine already. I got to the store right after the UPS guy got there so i was the first one to buy it and it is fucking sweet.

i got a bit confused trying to connect it but after bout 3 min i got it. i never did use the wired headset so i cant compare the two on better sound quality but i'm prety sure the wireless one is way better

Bout the battery indicator, i dont see it. i got the fall update and i see the controller indicator with the icon but not the wireless one. anybody else have the same?

In the UK it don't come out until November 21st, but mines coming from Jap by UPS. I know that it ONLY works with the xbox360 and it charges with an adapter that's like a cell phone adapter. It uses RF frequencies as with the wireless controller and not bluetooth - but this means that output sound is very very clear unless you have the microwave on, wahing machine, an elecric fan and some radio signals can interfere and make you sound like static. Other than that it's ace

wondering If I should get it or not. I really want a wireless headset, but im looking for a ireless solution so I can go grab food and stuff from my kitchen downstairs and still chat with people in the game. Currently to do that, I need to bring my wireles controller with me, but I want to leave it up in my room. So what is the range on these and does it work through walls (RF)?

Also, what advantages does this headset give me over say, a bluetooth headset which I can buy that will work with my cell phone and my 360 (If I buy a bluetooth dongle adapter it will work with my 360). Also, whats the battery life like on this vs a bluetooth? right now im doing moderate gaming but I know once halo 3 comes out, its not unreasonable for me to go on 12+ hours strait gaming fests. So I would need the battery to last 12-15 hours perferably

Price is not much of an issue for me. I would much rather pay $200 and grab an amazzing quality headset then pay $60 and get a so-so headset

Do you really notice a drop in sound quality from the regular wired headset? Looks cool, kinda interested.
