PS3s final eBay price

After covering numerous pre-order events and talking with all those people selling their PS3 on eBay, it's time to ask the question: What do you think will be the average winning bid price?

Even sister site Xbox360 Fanboy confessed they pre-ordered a PS3 to sell on eBay, for a hefty price -- at least they stayed fanboys and are keeping it real. Of course, eBay has a policy on pre-selling your pre-order and is attempting to cancel those auctions by ~~greedy~~ ~~exploitative~~ entrepreneurial individuals.

Will people get the $1000 - $2000 they are hoping for? Please, let's keep it civil in the comments, but when all is said and done, what's going to be the average winning bid for a PS3?

I think rich people with money to burn will pay any price to get what they want.
They're not used to being told "no", so it wouldn't surprise me to see the filthy rich bidding up to 5k for a PS3. Proof that money doesn't buy brains.

Please, please folks - you crazy gamers are mad at people for making money on eBay...lets say no one would pay more than market price on ebay...they'd still have run out of ps3 and you wouldn't be able to get one. It doesn't make a difference. If you should be mad at anyone, its Sony for making so few systems. No one seems to care that the controllers cost sony 1/3 of the retail price to make. Its called business - supply and demand. Didn't anyone take econ??? Don't be bitter..if you wanted one, you should have waited in line for days like the rest of us. I waited in line in Ohio FOREVER. It rained/sleeted the whole time and temps ranged from 20-50 F. I'm still cold!!! Frankly, I have no problem making money on eBay for my unit. I'm getting paid for freezing to death while everyone else was at home sleeping in their warm beds. Besides, if one of your friends bought the system on eBay for 3k, I doubt you'd deline to play out of principle. You'd be over there playing for hours. Just wait a few months or go play it with a ruch friend :). Merry Christmas everyone...
