DAMMIT!

You gave it away!

SEARS is where I go for launch games (I got my XBox360 there at the height of the craze, early on, without a line).

They quietly get shipments, and nobody goes in there. No foot traffic in SEARS.

Sears employee here from st louis. I checked the system the other day and so far no store in our area is getting any ps3's. That could change when our warehouse gets them (who knows when). I checked around the country for Wii's and it seems that sears will be getting anywhere from 10 to 2 (based on a random search in the computer). Our store at the moment says we are getting 2 wii's but that may increase towards launch day.

I had this Sears plan for PS2, camped out with a few other bright peeps, then Sears opened at 9am and did a lottery and people who arrived between 9am and 10am got to get my PS2 while I went home with nothing. I will not let this happen to any of you.

I'm gonna go to a retailer like Best Buy and just come REAL early. Because at least at a retailer like this they know and expect these kinds of lines to happen, so they'll be better prepared for it. If I don't get a system there, then I'll start checking smaller retailers.

With any of these less likely stores getting five or less consoles you can bet that the Employees are the going to be the only ones taking them home on launch day

I work at a Circuit City and we got 7 X-Box 360's on launch day. We won't be getting more than 10-15 PS3's. We'll get even less Wii's. So the big chains aren't that great to start off with. Still, its not great to blow secrets like this. You've just made it a hell of a lot harder for gamers to get their fix.

I have a close friend that works at Sears and he said his store is only getting in 3 and he claims he can get one of them, which means I bet the other employees will snag the other two. Last I heard there were only 300,000 ps3's being released in the first place and places like gamestop don't even know if they are going to be able to fulfill all the pre-orders! I wouldn't expect anyone to be able to just walk into a store, obscure or not, and get a ps3. Just my opinion though.

That kind of strategy doesn't work in NYC. For every big chain or small shop that gets them (and even the ones that don't have any) there's already a swarm of people that already hit up the store. People form lines around the block for the newest Jordan's, and that happens several times a year, so u think PS3 isn't going to be 1000 times worse.

What's the big deal about having the game on the first day? I waited about a month after XBOX 360's launch...after everybody complained about glitches...
Trust me....it played(plays) just as fine as the consoles purchased on the first day.
The PS3 I'll eventually get around to buying sometime in 2007 will play every bit as good as the ones purchased Friday. Relax.... Stay home...don't go to the mall...Wait it out.

Not sure about you guys, but I'm striking out with ALL of the Kmarks in & around my Charlotte region...they are all saying the same thing: "We will not be getting any at this time, and we don't know when we may get them".

That sucks AND blows >:( GRRRR....

Sears is either playing dumb, is intentionally being vague, or is clueless, but at least they appear to be getting SOME amt of the consoles for Friday.

Thats a great tip... back in 1992 when the Sega CD launched, I shopped everywhere for it and it was sold out. I walked into Sears and they had a supply.... its worth a shot. PS3 for 600 bux is a lil crazy though.

Im sleeping outside of BestBuy for a PS3 tomorrow. Not for me though. Im not an rtard. I'm getting paid quite nicely. They're paying a few of us to sleep out in tents with free meals. Pretty sweet deal. No complaints here.

Actually the idea of a local Sears store having any significant quantity on 11/17 is laughable. Sears is part of Sears Holding Corporation which now consists of several thousand retail units (between SEARS, and K-Mart) and Sony saying that the entire US initial shipment would be some 400,000 units...And all the Big Box stores like BestBuy, Circuit City, Toys-R-Us all in the mix, let alone AMAZON.com and all the other online E-tailers. Be realistic most Sears units won't even see a PS3 until January, or later. Want a 'must have' geeky new toy for your kid, or yourself...Get an I-pod killer 'ZUNE'. There will be plenty, thanks to the power of Bill Gates & Microsoft.

I just came back from sears and decided to let you all know. That, sear's will be carrying PS3 consoles. As a matter of fact all the employees there said that none of the Sears will be carrying ps3 at all. So good luck to you all in tracking down a source. freaking pre-orders screw up everything.

I checked Sears today in Falls Church, VA on the slight chance they might be clueless and let a Wii slip out early. They had a sign on the window saying they would not be carrying the PS3 on launch day, and the clerks said the same thing about the Wii--I think they were lying about the Wii though.

We had people three days before in their cars, walking around with signs that said 'PS3 line starts here' and getting kicked out by security. Last night on the news, my father saw my store with a line circling the building several times (Our Circuit City is the biggest one on Long Island) with tents and such. We had a huge storm here last night and they all sat through it, and we only got 14 PS3s!

I don't get it. If these people want it so bad, then why didn't they just have one reserved. I guess the thrill of not knowing if you're gonna get one on the day of its release is part of the game. As for me, I can wait. I can still enjoy my PS2 while waiting.
