Ahhh, are all you people stupid? Read the friggin first sentence in the ARTICLE. Yeah, theres words to go with the picture that everyone just goes straight to. This is a rating based on HOLIDAY SALES! It's great that XBox has both Halos and Riddick, but that was 2+ damn years ago. Nobody is buying an XBox this Christmas. It has great games, but nothing this holiday season. And XBox 360 is better graded because its been out longer. It has a larger library, so people are going to buy it over the other two, because you can play more than two games on it. Resistance is great, but that's all the PS3 has running for it this Holiday.

You damn people need to read the damn articles before posting your insipid damn comments, and look like damn fools.

Downgrade the DS and PSP to a B and a C.

I will agree then.

31. Yep. Mini-game collections and franchise rehashes. That covers everything. RPGs, shooters, sports/racing games, and fighters are a thing of the past. GO DS!

Just looking through my personal DS collection, I have 2 shooters, 4 RPGs (with another soon), 1 racer, 1 platformer, 2 'franchise rehashes', and 3 puzzle/touchscreen-centric games. And not a single mini-game collection. Do you people even take a look at the DS library before mindlessly bashing it?

Well based on the holiday sales PoV...

DS gets an A- (some hardcore gamers will be slightly disapointed due to gaming library)

360 gets a B (people still buy the thing and the games )

Wii: idk, not released yet

PS2: Probably a solid B, good games are still coming out of it.

PS3: dunno, not released (Note: if that thing oversells the Wii, i will give it an A++++)

Psp: C- (Trust me, after seeing Pink's ugly face on the pink psp, i think parents wouldnt buy it for their girls. And the psp tries too much to be completely 3-D like a console and is stuck in graphical limbo)

GC: C (not really anything new for it)

Xbox: C+ (merely cause if people want to get games but dont wanna break their bank, they will pick up a few old {butgood} xbox games)

This is all imo, so :p

I have only read a few paragraphs and already i have a laundry list of grievances with this craptastic article. Hell, I agree with their stance on the PS2 and i still hate the first page of the article.

for one thing "even a smaller outlay should net you a system that will last longer than a pork chop at a dog park." I cant figure out what that garbled clause is supposed to mean...so wait...if porkchops dont last long at all, then this "smaller outlay" (horrible word choice) will "net" me (again, horrible word choice) something that lasts longer than not long at all...which could be anywhere from 5 seconds to forever. Thanks, gamedaily, for that stirring commentary.

Oh yeah, and my favorite: "Kids and teens will gravitate toward Ratchet and Clank and Sly Cooper games" - yknow, it wouldnt be such a big deal if I didnt see this SO often but the whole "kiddie games" myth that adheres to ALL PLATFORMERS EVER is simply retarded. I know, in context, nothing was meant by this comment, but that is why it pisses me off. It has become the accepted rhetoric to state as fact that "kids like platformers, grown-ups like violent shooters and action games". I can see a non-gamer assuming that (despite how dumb it is; tons of kids own God of War, tons of adults own Sly Cooper and prefer it over the previous, etc, etc), but when video-game journalists spew out the same old gamer stereotypes, that is just bad gaming journalism.

well, on to the next page.

For the record, GameDaily's editorial type articles are almost universally horrible. Very occasionally they'll have a worthwhile interview or something, but for the most part it's utter crap. I see, too, that they still haven't changed their "independent voice of gaming" motto, despite being owned by AOL for months.

Ahh... I dunno guys. I have a DS Lite, and I haven't been playing it nearly as much as everyone tells me I should be. It's the only handheld I own, but it really only gets play whenever I'm on the go or at University, which even then isn't often.

I just don't get into the games nearly enough to appreciate the full value. Often times I'll buy a game, play it for a bit then lose interest (New Super Mario Bros is a HUGE example of this). I think the only game that's had me hooked was MegaManXZ, and that's only because it's a Mega Man game, with virtually the same formula used since the days of the SNES. (Which I love, by the way.)

But, I guess if you would look at it with a Christmas viewpoint, it should have a high grade.

I pretty much feel like the PS2 is the ultimate Christmas package for non-hardcore gamers. It's tried and true technology, with a solid game library in addition to some incredible PS1 era games. The Gamecube and the X-box are decent choices too, but the sorry state of support on the systems makes it hard for me to recommend over the PS2. Of course, in my book Zelda makes the GC worth it period, but I'm not sure the typical Christmas shopper would agree with me.

By the way, I'm buying Twilight Princess this Christmas for the 'Cube. Fuck Wii.

...(At least until Brawl comes out)...

I agree some of what you said on the DS, n8dogg. Many first-party DS Games are over hyped and easily forgettable (NSMB, Nintendogs), which is a shame, because they're supposed to take the most advantage of the hardware. All the unique games like Phoenix Wright, Castlevania, Elite Beat Agents, or Trauma Center are usually third-party. Sucks games like these are a rarity on a system they're perfect for.

no way that the 360 deserves an A. it has some sweet games & graphics, but the 360 only lasts a few months before its guts give out.

A for game lineup
but
F for console (due to defective console rates)
