BBC looking for writers for Wii launch coverage
In an effort to expand their coverage of Nintendo's anticipated next-gen launch on November 19, the BBC is looking for would-be Wii owners to document their purchase decision, excitement level, and if the console in-fact lives up to expectations. From the article: "Is the Wii the console underdog? Is the controller just a novelty? Will the white box pack enough fun to win the hearts, minds and wallets of gamers? We are looking for US gamers and non-gamers who will have a Wii on launch day to help us to answer these questions."The request is particularly interested in hearing from families or non-gamers, but they'll take anyone they can get since it's a non-paying gig. So if you're planning on buying a Wii here in the US and are vying to get on the British Broadcasting Corporation's Christmas Card list, hit the read link to send in 150 words on why gaming is important to you, and why you are excited about the Wii launch.
[Thanks, Daniel]

Non-paying? We have to buy our own Wii?? Dammit BBC, that's why you're a British channel.
No, no, just joking. I kid the British. Truth is, I was just hoping to get my Wii for free. Curses! Foiled again!

I'm truly excited to experience Nintendo's Wii, so much so that I camped out in front of my local game store to reorder it the morning they started taking pre-orders. While I'm all for new games with great graphics (I own an Xbox 360), the Wii looks to change the way I game. I've always enjoyed Nintendo franchises, and the concept of swinging the remote as a sword in Zelda or using it to control Mario seems like an excellent way to play. I’ve been trying to kill the days until the system launches by reading up about the upcoming games for the Wii, and I’m just eager to learn all I can about this new system. I’m eagerly awaiting the 19th of this month so I can get to play Nintendo’s Wii from my own couch.

There will be no revolution on 11/19 or 11/17. Sadly I've spent the
past couple of days playing both Wii and PS3 feeling a little
underwhelmed. Excite truck sucked balls. It felt like you were using
the flying cars code in GTA: Vice City. Zelda is amazing and I don't
think there is a better way to play. Resistance: Fall of Man was
exciting to watch and a decent game to play. The first real WOW for
me this generation was seeing Fight Night round 3 in high def. I
think when everyone gets a good hand on these new systems, they'll
see that it's not nearly as exciting as they've heard. IT's
definitely different and even better, but all the same, there is no
WOW.
