Call of Duty 3 cheaper to import
Play-Asia's got Call of Duty 3 for $48 (includes shipping -- from Hong Kong). That retailer down the street? Oh, well, they've got it for $59.99. We think the choice is clear. Don't you?[Note: Call of Duty 3 is region-free.]

this bitch just got 9/10
GamerZero @ Nov 7th 2006 7:37PM
No no no no no no not another game with a high score.
My missus will just downright slap me silly if I even
hint at another game purchase!
sully @ Nov 7th 2006 7:42PM
The cover of Call of Duty games always look odd for me. The guy on them always seems like he's having fun.
It's World War II! You're not supposed to be having fun!
Petrie @ Nov 7th 2006 7:43PM
I really hope that this cheapassgamer.com mentality continues to grow, as it can only help to push game prices back down to more reasonable levels. Long live CAG!
Omega697 @ Nov 7th 2006 7:52PM
My favorite part about the cover is how the guy isn't even aiming the gun. He's just shooting wherever it's pointed. More important to look all impressive for the camera than to actually point the gun at something, I guess.
DG @ Nov 7th 2006 7:55PM
If you've got a Tower Records nearby, check it out. They're going out of business and liquidating stock. The one here in Seattle has Xbox 360 games for 25% off.
Dirtyboy @ Nov 7th 2006 8:09PM
So it may be region free, but is it Duty free? =P
notdwight @ Nov 7th 2006 8:11PM
DG, which one, the one by seattle center or the one on the ave?
DakidOG @ Nov 7th 2006 8:13PM
Maybe his squad is just demolishing the enemy without casualties. Just imagine shooting someone you hate maybe the local neighborhood jackass?
Huzzah!! @ Nov 7th 2006 8:15PM
WAIT, CHECK LIK-SAN-- oh, right.
CURSE YOU SONY!!!
Sam @ Nov 7th 2006 8:20PM
plus $4 bucks in shipping makes it $52. Even though it says 5-10 days shipping its usually at least a week or 2. Sometimes 3. You gotta decide if saving 8 bucks is worth waiting longer for the game.
CAG FTW @ Nov 7th 2006 8:20PM
How is this news? There is a website for this, it's called cheapassgamer.com. With November in full swing, I'm pretty sure there is enough out there to keep it real.
Sam @ Nov 7th 2006 8:22PM
Oh and about Tower Records... They are LIQUIDATING stock meaning they probably aren't going to order new stuff just to sell it for cheaper. They're trying to get rid of everything.
Angelo @ Nov 7th 2006 8:30PM
Won't these imported copies be localized for their regions? Or will it be in full English glory?
Insomnia Bob @ Nov 7th 2006 8:37PM
@ #11, uh, the stroy said the $48 includes shipping...FROM HONG KONG. So...
The bigger question here, is why are people around the world getting slapped with premium prices on electronic media?
Shame on you...international consumer society...uh...crap.
Alan @ Nov 7th 2006 8:47PM
Call of Duty 3 cheaperer to download.
Michael @ Nov 7th 2006 8:54PM
Shipped from Hong Kong? Great call -- no worries, your kids will pay the actual cost to the planet that we today so easily abuse.
Does anyone realize how absolutely wasteful it is to order a game from Hong Kong to save a few bucks?
The environments in Gears are representative of where we're headed -- giant locusts included.
FooAtari @ Nov 7th 2006 9:10PM
Well I just picked this up for £25, RRP in the UK is £49.99 thats half price!
Although I would have probably bought from the net at £39.99 thats still a fricken steel!
I wasnt going to bother with CoD3 straight away, but at tht price, what the hell...
FooAtari @ Nov 7th 2006 9:12PM
@ Micheal
Cause my Copy of CoD 3 is the only package that will be shipped in that flight...
JK @ Nov 7th 2006 9:19PM
#17...You do realize that they don't just put one copy of each game on its own personalized jet lined with baby seal fur, correct? The games would wind up on a vessel already bound for this country along with piles of other crap we don't need.
Pal @ Nov 7th 2006 9:25PM
Alan, don't talk about downloading games. This is Joystiq, not Anti-Lawnmowing Teens Union.
Michael @ Nov 7th 2006 9:57PM
#19 & #20...
..guys, thanks, I realize that. Though the baby seal fur option is only with FedEx.
But, you see the issue here? Instead of saying, 'hey, good point, I'll just go down to my local EB'; you're admitting that you could really care less.
Enjoy.
CYRiX @ Nov 7th 2006 10:00PM
Once again credit should go to www.CHEAPASSGAMER.com, as they were first to find ANY region free deal from Play-Asia.
Rock on CheapyD
Navillus @ Nov 7th 2006 10:17PM
It's cheaper in Canada right now, too! I saw it tonight for $59.99 at Futureshop (www.futureshop.ca) - that's about $53 USD. Not bad, eh?
dsub @ Nov 7th 2006 10:23PM
the obvious choice is to walk into my local retailer and pay $60 because I'd rather have the game to play now than pay $10 less for it so I can be running home to check my mail everyday only to be let down when it doesn't show up for the next 7-10 days.
Maybe I'd also like to trade my game in some day. Can't do that if I've got the Chinese version of the game. Region-free or not...good luck convincing EB Games to take your game on trade when they see it's an import and the barcode won't scan in.
Limey @ Nov 7th 2006 11:43PM
Is this game also out for PC?
Leggo @ Nov 7th 2006 11:52PM
wtf? Can you guys stick to news? There's already a cheapassgamer.
yunaleska @ Nov 8th 2006 12:01AM

Isn't that how Americans shoot their guns? With more allies being killed in Iraq by "friendly fire" than by Iraqi's during the recent war, I'd have sworn that was the case.
Canadian solider: Oh shit, Americans are coming. Quick, get the flag out so those morons see we're not Iraqis or they'll be throwing everything they have at us.
American solider 1: Something's moving over there! Shoot!!!
* lots of gunfire followed by RPGs *
American solider 1: Did anyone notice if they were the enemy before they got vapourised by the grenades?
American solider 2: Nope, sorry!
American solider 1: Dang.
...

I lose more and more respect for this site everytime you guys post a gaming deal. You're supposed to be a gaming news site for christ's sake!
denney @ Nov 8th 2006 6:18AM
hey if its cheaper to import where is the best place to import games since lik-sang is gone
BBXboy @ Nov 8th 2006 8:13AM
Hey #35, 30, 27, 12 - who the f*ck are you guys? Some sort of self-appointed content contingent? If you don't want to read it, then scroll on or click elsewhere - I'd rather run into the occasional story I thought was lame than have to read through your obnoxious misplaced outrage every third article.

All hail Canada, with their supreme super soldiers who could conquer all at a moment's notice. lol.
I didn't know you Canadians were so good at pulling statistics out of your asses. Whether you hate us or not, you would be stupid to not realize how well trained our soldiers are; or ignorant.
Also, if they were trying to shoot you, you would be dead.
KaneRobot @ Nov 8th 2006 9:29AM
LOL at this story being credited "Via 1UP." Yeah, I'm sure they didn't steal it from CAG.

Listen up everyone, if you don't agree that shipping packages is the worst thing in the world, then you don't care about the environment. I personally applaud Michael for not realizing that pretty much everything he's touching right now was flown across the Pacific, it takes a good amount of mental ability to be able to block all that out.
refinedsugar @ Nov 8th 2006 1:17PM
I know Play-Asia is legit, but I'm not that broke that I need to buy cheap ass NTSC-J versions of my games from overseas - hope they get here in a reasonable amount of time and without customs duty fees. Too much of a headache for $12-15 in savings.
MED @ Nov 8th 2006 7:05PM
lately joystiq has been moving into cheapassgamer.com's teritory
GOLD5 @ Nov 8th 2006 8:15PM
"Also, if they were trying to shoot you, you would be dead."
Yeah like those American pilots who acidentally killed the Canadian troops several months ago. Thanks for bringing it up. I'm sure lots of smaller countries who live next to larger countries, don't have to listen to the larger country venomously spew that they protect the smaller country, and should't we be grateful? I can't remember the last time The US of F*ck*ng A "protected" Canadian citizens in any meaningful or real way. I'm sure The UK doesn't sit around all day angrily telling France that they "protect them" and they should thank them. Well we already gave you Brian Adams and William Shatner as well as Jim Carrey so if that's not enough thanks then let me procreate with Carmen Electra and we can give you guys the baby. Anyways, ON TOPIC, this, and all the other cheap games that play-asia sells are currently out-of-stock, probably due to the articles being read by many on these blogs. Plus they raised all the prices from 39.99 before shipping to 44.90 before shipping. Pretty soon there won't be as much of a deal going on there. Also to that guy who said EBGames won't buy your import games. Protip: EBGames gives squat/jackall for DVDs/games. If you want to get majorly ripped sell your stuff to them, otherwise do yourself a favor and sell it on ebay, to a pawn shop, or a used bookstore, because all of those places will give you more than 30 cents for your valuable used stuff.

Dear 44.,
Canada is protected by the fact that if anyone came close to invading you, the USA would squash them like a bug. Your welcome.
Janet Barber @ Nov 20th 2006 2:22AM
How long must one wait before receiving the package? For 10 dollars more, I can get it soon as I pay for it. But you know what they say about patience. Yes, you're right, it's a virtue. But what do they say about impatience? I say it's worth shelling out 10 bucks for therapy.
