What are einjerher? Don't worry about it, just know you'd be awesome and noble. Better yet, what comparison of the consoles are we subjecting you to today? Price per "p", or price per line of progressive scan resolution. Make absolutely no sense? Probably, but it's worth reading over and thinking what you're getting for your TV's ability. As the original article says, "PS3 is high priced, but more featured. The Wii is the cheapest and has less technical prowess. Sitting somewhere in the middle seems to be the Xbox 360, or is it? Which system really delivers the most technical/graphical value for your gaming dollars? Hopefully with the price per "p" metric we can decide once and for all which system is the "best value"." Let's.We're not going to grind out the basic math here -- we're only interested in the results! So, by sparing you the number crunching and even the sight of such number crunching, we can get to the point already. Based on the cheapest bundles, the 360 wins hands down with a, uh, p per dollar (right?) of .41, as opposed to .46 of the PS3 and the massive (ha, ha) .51 for the Wii. Expensive bundles? Wii wins with a .52 per p... the 360 and PS3 tie at a .55 per p. Now, this is an interesting concept and all, but seriously, this is ridiculous. Math junkies, you may find this appealing and exciting, but it's just... hmm... relevant? It's not exactly the best way to compare systems, we don't think. That's not because the PS3 didn't come out on top -- we just don't think price per "p" is really something to focus on. Check out the original article if you want to see the intricacies of the formula. We've lost interest.
[thanks, Brian!]
