yeah it's fairly stupid (and by fairly I mean it has stupidity oozing from every pore). Now I may be a nds guy, but come on! Canadian tv has trouble getting this stupid, but from wht I've read, this isn't even close to some of the muck getting sold in the states. BTW correction to 6: the DS can't yet browse the internet. It will recieve software for that later on. It connects only for gaming.
Note: I don't hate the states, just this bullshit.

my nephew's is just nine years old...he may not have a psp but he does have his own laptop and accesses the internet through it wirelessly. my friend's kid has his own cellphone and he can access the internet thru it as well. it may not display the pages correctly but it does show some of the images. therefore, with or without a psp, kids nowadays can access porn and crap if they wanted to. it all boils down to parental control. watch your kids, mom and dad!

it's just sad how closeminded fox became with this report, making the psp the center of the report and forgetting that there are a lot of other means kids can use to access the internet...to look at porn and the like.

I've said it before about other news stories, but this is just another case of the news trying to instill FEAR rather than actually investigate & report a story. Why would they want people to be afraid? So that people will watch MORE news to see the next 'big scary thing' & so on & so on. And by watching more news, their advertising revenue goes up.... that's what it's all about, people. Keep your eyes on the ball here. They want something from YOU and that's to be afraid so that you'll keep watching to find out "what happens next"...

And I'm sure that FOX news has to tell parents to "talk to their kids".... Glad there was someone out there to tell them to do that.

I was living in the states till 2000. And there was fox network then, and I enjoyed watching simpsons and futurama, king of the hill, it was a network with many good things to watch. I haven't paid attention to any fox news programs then, but I don't think it was this messed up back then. Yeah, lil kids who go to school wanna impress by using PSP to access pictures and videos of sexual contents, but gimme a break, it's not a friggin big deal. This program makes kids look like convicts, and that parents should be careful before they buy a kid a psp because they can access bad stuff? Man, having just a computer at your home, kids can do all that stuff. In my experience, with PSP you can access the internet, but you don't really BROWSE the internet because it has no keyboard and it's hard to type in stuff. You rather search for great PODCAST/RSS and PSP compliance sites and just add them on psp. And how many people really use PSP to surf the internet or check out porn? PSP's screen is not big enough to surf the normal internet sites. Where are you going to check out porn outside your house, are you that desperate and addicted to porn that you have to watch porn when you are outside? Man, such a trashy low grade reports, more reason not to watch tv and just stick to internet where you can get what YOU WANT, instead of what THEY WANT TO SHOW YOU. I understand US is very christian, but these kinds of overreacting is ridiculous. So what a lil kid has interests in checking out babes? It's better than watching horror movies where a man gets sawed in half.

Keep in mind that this is a local news broadcast, similar to the one in minneapolis earlier this year. The "Fox News" everyone is referring to is a seperate entity that is on the national level.

This was just way too sensationalized. They had the opportunity to educate parents about the psp's parental controls and locking out the web browser (they never listed that feature).

The focus of this story should have been that the psp has a web browser, therefore it has access to all the content that any computer can access, and that the browsing feature can be disabled through parental controls.

Awesome. I've seen more porn on the PSP in the last 5 minutes watching that video than I have over the year and a half that I've owned one.. Go Fox News!

Yo see the problem here is that the PSP is like a Dump Truck and the Internet is like a bunch of Tubes. So what the PSP does is fill up on these tubes before brutally running over your child leaving him/her creamed to the sidewalk. At least, that's what the politicians say.

I love it when parents and puritans get all uppity about things like this. It really shows their laziness and apathy towards their children. I guess some parents really expect the PSP, internet, and TV to really baby-sit their child. The more these people come down on entertainment, the more I think people should have to get a license to have kids. Are these people stupid?! You can access porn and violent images on a PSP? AND?! You can see them on a TV and a normal computer as well! Do you see them getting any negative mention in this? NO. And as for the school wireless, why exactly doesnt it have filtering software? I mean yes you can bypass it but I doubt a kid that age could do it. As for home you can do it on a router most of the time as well. The parents are too quick to blame the technology and never stop to think that it might be their fault that their kids are able to access all of this so easily.
