ALL Konami arcade games are out of sync. Moreso than any I've played... I've not had a single problem with Gauntlet 4 players online, for example.

It's really ridiculous. I know even older titles like this still send out a lot of netcode to record movements and such, but what am I paying for? Particularly since I use Gold for Arcade titles 95% of the time. It's kind of upsetting.

I've not tried Contra yet, but last I played Frogger it was a real pain.... and you're not even playing on the same field. It lags so badly that I don't know how anyone got that co-op online achievement.

Is MS just not dedicating as much server bandwidth to arcade titles in general...?

This would explain why the person I was playing with was shooting at the empty wall in the tunnel levels.

It'd be really nice if there was a fix for this though seeing as how many of us were really looking forward to this part of the game.

Wow, what a giant surprise. New MS software doesn't work and either wasn't tested or tested but ignored. Don't hold your breath for a patch. How much longer can they get away with this? I'm a giant fan of video games and I really like the 360, but as soon as I get my fixed console back it's going on ebay.

That's his point. That Midway title works well, Contra, a Konami title, does not.

That sucks... I looooove Contra, but without a reliable Live co-op game, why not just buy the version I'm most familiar with when it comes out on Wii VC? At least that version will fill my screen... stupid arcade aspect ratio. Very disappointing.

dan s. - "New MS software doesn't work and either wasn't tested or tested but ignored."

Please, if you really think MS release untested software/hardware you need to go over there and watch them work. Besides, it's Konami who wrote this, not Microsoft.

Contra on the NES is not shitty. Besides that, this is the arcade version.

I spent money on it and I'd like what's included the work. People can only be upset about that after it crosses a certain price threshold?

In any case, yes, my point earlier was that I've had no issues with Midway games that compare to the ones with Konami titles thus far lol.

Yea, Multiplayer is kinda busted.. I've run into 2 glitches so far. One was after finishing off the Base 1 boss, both characters went up the same lift and the game froze up. The 2nd Glitch was P2 couldn't always continue when he should have been able to.

Everytime i play online co-op it becomes fubar once i get to the vertical water stage. The other player will always refuse to jump up and moronically run left and right shooting off into nothing. While i see this my partner tells me he is already fighting the boss.

Are there any sound effects in contra? The demo only had boring background music. I think I would avoid it even if MS would give it for free.
