Why? Why is everything exploding? Do these "high definition pitchas" make the mundane beautiful and the beautiful explode? Then with that sense the mundane ALSO explodes? Screw PS3, the Wii is for Mii.

I can see it now, demonic babies that become so "beautiful" they explode, shooting multi-colored blood all over the walls.

omg, roflmao... that commercial was pretty funny. after seeing that exploding cube, i can't believe i totally didn't see the more uber explosions coming in.

what's the deal with the random zebra/giraffe shot?

the commercial sounded more like an ad for their picture viewer (which is pretty cool) moreso than the games. in which case if it was for the picture viewer, they should've thrown in shots of it.

I'll admit, the PS3 commercials are REALLY cool within themselves.

The only problem? They don't make me want to buy the actual product.

Either way, it's going to take more than HD to make me buy a PS3. Wii FTW. =)

So from what I understand from this add the cost of a ps3 is going to break the house(aka exponential increase people under the poverty line)

Question: Why has the actual hottest game video been passed over twice in a row for a PS3-related one? Yesterday was the Robot Chicken Mario video, today was a Red Steel commercial. Both times passed over for a PS3 video, with no explanation given as to why. In addition, you label the second-"hottest" video as the hottest, which doesn't seem very accurate to me.

Answer (I think): For Joystiq's "hottest game video", they pick the top viewed game video from youtube. The past 2 days, they already covered the video in a seperate story.

Does that answer your question, or did you already know that? :P

Hey Mister Disco, both of those videos had been subjects of previous posts. (Both were also linked in the "hottest" posts.) So Random Insanity is right; we've been going to lower numbers if the true number one has been covered.

Ah, okay then. I was wondering if there might have been some favoritism abounding. Thanks for clearing that up.

Note to the editors? Maybe just explain in passing why you're going for a different video than the number 1, when it happens, just for clarity sake.

I don't understand why this makes me want to buy PS3...

Sony needs to stop with all these underlying-tones and just make a simple, straight-to-the-point advertisement.

What's hilarious is the speak of high definition, followed by a shot of some zebras that look like they're being rendered by an N64.

The Zebras and Giraffes come from the game.... I think it is a game at least... called Afrika I believe.

I liked the commercial. Like it was said before tho, MS has the best commercial with the finger pistols. Too bad it got banned by the moms of america.

the ad makes it sound like no matter what kind of tv you have you will get HD...isn't that false advertising?

Does NO ONE even thinks about the PS3 not coming out untill MARCH next year in Europe??

No one?

Well.... ok then...

This is just to take away some hype around Nintendo, I guess...
If Nintendo even is a hype in Europe, they've always had quite a hard time over here, against Sony (I for one know VERY few people with N-consoles, and TONS of Sony fans; who all know about PS3... Wii, not so much...)

They should just get a Silent Hill 5 Commercial to sell the Ps3- Or I atleast Imagine that a Silent hill on the ps3 hardware will be so crazy visually, that it can sell the system 3-4 times over to the same costumer. :D
