I think it is great, another option for hd content... I think this is the choice until the blu-ray and hd dvd battle is over... I don't know about the movies, but the shows I will buy

microsoft meeting, october 26, 2006:

robbie bach: our operating losses were 96 million in fiscal 2007, Q1 in the entertainment and devices division folks.
employee 1: so what do you suggest we do to boost these earnings, i mean each 360 costs us upwards of 500 dollars to manufacture.
bach: we wont drop the price, we need a solution through xboxlive.
employee 2: movies
bach: dont be ridiculous.
employee 2: no sir, lets allow the gamers to download movies to their hardrives.
bach: but there are people out there who dont have hardrives on their xboxes.
employee 3: we can sell them hardrives for 100 a pop, they will love it.
bach: but then what about the ones that have them from the premium console, the hardrive is just 20 gigabytes. a hd movie will take up too much space!
employee 1: well for them to have the same amount of space the sony gamers do, they would have to spend (gets calculator out, starts jabbing away) for those with the core system 300 dollars ontop of their 300 base price, and for the premium it is 200 dollars ontop of the 400 paid.
bach: do we require them to buy our proprietary hdd?
employee 3: you betcha!
bach: slam dunk guys, make them believe this is the future.

(high fives all around, November 7, 2006 it is announced that tv shows and movies will be available through xbox live)

HA I don't think you could say that it is 6 partners. There is only 3 after all.

Viacom - Paramount, CBS
Warner Bros - Turner
UFC

Viacom and Warner Bros are obviously agnostic to both Sony and MS, what surprises me is that Universal who is more aligned with MS/HD-DVD hasn't jumped right in. Obviously Sony, Fox and Disney will be staying right out of this since there aligned with Blu-Ray and wouldn't want to seem cooperating with the enemy.

Ok, so, maybe this has been covered, maybe it hasn't, but my biggest question is, will I be able to transfer my movies/tv shows to another device, say, my Zune, when they come out? It would be very iPod-ish, I know, but it would definitely be a great enhancement.

Quote from the video: "And here's an even better clip. Manhattan Manhunt. This ones good, the girls almost take their top off. Not only that, but someone, I think, gets shot or something like that. There's almost nudity and death."

Uh, these people call themselves journalists?
