For everyone looking forward to living in Gordon Freeman's world early next year, it looks like you'll have to wait just a little bit longer. Recently Doug Lombardi, Valve's Director of Marketing, told CVG that Half Life 2: Episode 2 will be delayed until Summer 2007. I guess the Xbox version of Half Life 2 could hold you over if you can't bear the wait, but I want my episode 2 now!

Why the &@#@^ is Valve improving the Source engine? Why not just RELEASE EPISODE 2 WITH THE OLD SOURCE?
Do they understand we were willing to buy the episodic content IF IT WAS QUICK?
It'll take longer for a bunch of episodes with the same running time as HL2 than if they just went ahead with HL3.

If released this year, Valve would have faced some tough shooter competition. It's better that they spend the time giving the game some polish. Come the games drought of summer, they're much more likely to move copies when 360 owners are looking for something fresh.

Disappointing news. I'm really looking forward to this package (Especially Episode 2 and Team Fortress 2). Oh well, if Lost Planet keeps it's promise in coming around January, I should be good for awhile. =D

For those of us who are counting, this is the /second/ Episode 2 delay. Look for PC owners to blame it on the 360 release.
