Photographer captures game faces
New York based photographer Phillip Toledano has a gallery of photos online capturing the faces and expressions people make while playing video games. The resulting pictures are funny, creepy and slightly disturbing. It'll make us think twice about what our face is doing the next time we game. Maybe the Xbox Live Vision Camera isn't such a great idea after all. If we look like this, we don't want people laughing at us.Or is it too late?

I got this thing from my mom somehow when we are having conversations or watching a movie, our faces will kind of absent-mindedly twist awkwardly into whatever we are feeling until it all turns into one oddly contorted facial expression that is partly upset, partly surprised, partly frightened, partly relieved and whatever else we have been going through as we watch. We die laughing when we look at each other. I bite my lip when I game, though, and my sister informs me that I push my nostrils downward somehow when I play the guitar. This stuff is weird to think about, but you don't even notice it while you do it. It's a shame if this would make us self-conscious, though. I think it's cool and kind of interesting (if yes, a little disturbing at times... good lord).

That last guy has got to be chainsaw-ing someone in half.

Did these people know that they were being photographed, because those look really exaggerated. I hope I don't make that sort of creepy face while i'm gaming. If I had to guess, my mouth would just be kinda hung open mindlessly. Unless of course I'm playing Splinter Cell... because I AM a splinter cell...

Heh, Funnily enough my girlfriend did almost exactly the same thing recently for an art school project.
The photos were similar with a dark room so that you could pretty much just see the gamer's illuminated faces.
However nobody pulled silly expressions in any of her pictures, everyone just looked sort of zoned out

2nded, taco, I'm calling shenanigans. I've been in a photo shoot for video games - The photographers got pissed at us because we looked expressionless and bored while playing. I think he was asking these people to look goofy.

The artist simply forgot to mention that they were all forced to play Barbie Horse Adventures with electrodes hooked up to their privates in lieu of the rumble feature. That last guy really loves him some Barbie...and electrodes.

There are seven photos, there were obviously more taken and these were chosen for very specific reasons. I personally would prefer to see the more elated ones. Victory is, of course, sweeter than defeat. Where are those photos?
