I forgot to mention the innovative artificial intelligence that the games showcases.

The grunts you are fighting know when they are being fired upon, they know when they are getting hurt, and they know when the opposition is surrounding them. Best of all, they react accordingly to each of those situations.

Enemy AI is something that is so rarely done right. Given what I've seen of the grunts in GoW, there was some definite innovation going on in that code.

It's all very well saying EA lack innovation etc, but why are EA the biggest game co in the world (probably) yes thats right folks because we keep buying their games, stop buying their tat and they will cease to be the robdogs that they are.

Pyronite has it right. Would you change a tire that’s not flat? Of course not. So why should a game designer feel the need to invent new concepts when the ones we have still have plenty of miles left on them? Exactly. There is simply no need. Sure the gears team may not have invented every aspect of game-play they used, but that’s not important. What is important they recognized what they had and used it to make a solid ass-kicking game for the 360. That makes the GOW team resourceful- and EA clearly jealous of that fact.

"No innovation" says the company who repackages the same sports games every year with updated rosters.
