Toys R Us: Tomorrow Wii pre-order part 2

Did you miss out on the original Toys R Us PS3/Wii pre-order? Yes? Well, here's your chance to experience the fun. Go Nintendo reports that the new Toys R Us flyer states they'll begin pre-orders again tomorrow. No official word yet on number of units, but the three stores we've contacted have confirmed that they are doing the pre-order again tomorrow. All the stores also said 20 units will be up for grabs. We'll be sure to head over to Toys R Us this evening to see if people are camping out all night.
Before you drop what you are doing and rush out the door -- STOP! Please, dear Joystiq readers, if you do camp out, and live in a cold weather area, bundle up like the people you see above. Make sure to check the weather report as some regions of the country are expecting rain this evening. Safety first. OK, now go!

Videogames are cool, but this is just pathetic.
Leo @ Nov 12th 2006 9:12AM
I'm glad this time it's just the Wii...no PS3 eBayers, no Tickle Me Elmo EXTREME parents.
gamefreakk @ Nov 11th 2006 6:59PM
wait..is this just the wii or also the ps3??
Ross @ Nov 11th 2006 7:03PM
I just called my local Toys'R'us in Richmond, Va and they said the second round of preorders was today (Saturday) not tomorrow (Sunday).
SUPER DUPER MARIO @ Nov 11th 2006 7:11PM
my local toys r us looked at me like i was retarded when i asked them about this...
gatorfan @ Nov 11th 2006 7:17PM
i called the gainesville and ocala FL and they denied denied denied. they said no more preorders PERIOD. anyone know differently?
rob @ Nov 11th 2006 7:46PM

Anonie Mouse @ Nov 11th 2006 7:47PM
I called the Toys R Us at Metrotown (Vancouver, Canada) and they said they're not taking preorders.
GenericGuy @ Nov 11th 2006 7:48PM
I verified with my local Toys R Us (Lewisville TX) that there is a second pre-order tomorrow and they would have 15 consoles up for grabs.
Grant @ Nov 12th 2006 12:28AM
I've called 3 Toys R Us stores in Indiana (Muncie, Indianapolis, and South Bend) and they all said that they weren't taking any more preorders, although the one in South Bend said that if they did it would be in a flyer...
Sean @ Nov 11th 2006 8:55PM
I called 3 Toys R' Us in Colorado and all three said they are done with PS3 preorders and that they have never taken Wii preorders. There are no more preorders tomorrow for the ps3 according to them. I never tried to go the first time so i didn't know stores in Colorado were not taking wii preorders, which is quite weird.
BklynKid @ Nov 11th 2006 8:03PM
Fools.
Mr, Objectional @ Nov 11th 2006 8:12PM
No at the store in Durham, NC. They had been getting all kinds of calls, but were telling people they had none.
There are 10 up for grabs in Cary, NC. *grabs coat and wallet*

"No official word yet on number of units, but the three stores we've contacted have confirmed that they are doing the pre-order again tomorrow. All the stores also said 20 units will be up for grabs."
What does this mean? That there will be more pre-orders of an undisclosed amount tomorrow and then 20 extra units available on launch day, or does it mean that there are 20 pre-orders available tomorrow?
friedgreenmushrooms @ Nov 11th 2006 8:25PM
Meh. I won't have the money for the Wii until one day before launch, so no preorders for me. And I'm in Canada, where the only preorders for Wii have been at Gamestop so far, pretty much. Bah humbug.
Josh Luddeni @ Nov 11th 2006 9:10PM
Savannah, GA is also doing preorders? I called and they said, yes we are selling the system tomorrow...
Boy wouldn't that be great if somehow they actually have systems and they sell them... LMAO.
Wonderwes @ Nov 11th 2006 9:50PM
Called two TrU in Austin, Tx 8:40pm on Saturday night. Guy wasn't sure, but pretty much said he believed they were doing Wii preorders Sunday morning. I don't think I have the will to camp out since I am liking doing that for the ps3 launch, but I will shoot over there 90min before store opening.
Sounds like this 2nd preorder will be less known to the general public. How many people in your city read Joystiq? If you go tomorrow, you might get an answer.
Kewlrats @ Nov 11th 2006 11:02PM
Spoke to my local Toys R Us today and they confirmed the 20 more Wii preorders tomorrow... then also confirmed that they will be receiving over 100 Wiis for sale next weekend. They are going to begin selling them at 12:01 AM on Saturday night/Sunday morning. HOWEVER the "gentleman behind the counter" also noted that they will only be selling 100 at 12:01 AM, and that they will save the remainder (about 50) for the regular store times the next morning. All-in-all, the Toys R Us will be receiving close to 200 Wiis for sale next weekend, which they are fearing to be selling out of within 24 hrs. Can anyone confirm if this will be taking place at other Toys R Us stores in the same way?
Mark Standridge @ Nov 11th 2006 11:18PM
The people at one of the TRU's in Albuquerque, NM didn't seem to have any idea about new preorders starting tommorrow.
Steve @ Nov 11th 2006 11:37PM
Talked to my local TRU and they said 15 more preorders will be taken tomorrow morning. Heading there around 5am, store opens at 10am, haha.
Evan @ Nov 12th 2006 12:32AM
My local TRU told me they had 20 pre-orders tomorrow before I could even finish my sentance. Toys 'R' Us here I come!
Thaddeus @ Nov 12th 2006 7:53AM
Concord NH Toysrus has 10 Wii's for tomorrow, and had no line when I called at 8:30pm. If I knew there was no line now, I would make the drive down there, but I'm betting there is one. Anyway it is funny that people will camp out all night for a system that will be easy to get on launch day. Funny thing is the preorders are selling for 5 to 6 hundred bucks on ebay, to idiots that think there is gonna be a shortage. It's worth the wait in line for 300 bucks profit I guess, then just buy a wii at launch with no wait.
Yaser @ Nov 12th 2006 9:17PM
They are only doing NINTENDO WII PREORDERS,
NOT PLAYSTATION 3 PREORDERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Will @ Nov 12th 2006 7:59AM
I am currently in line outside of Philadelphia...There is a small line, but not 20 people yet.
They confirmed 19 avalible, and will be opening at regular time at 10am. I think many people did not hear about this in time to make it this weekend! But I am glad because its a pretty warm day today and nothing is guaranteed about next weekend!
ten_twentyfour @ Nov 12th 2006 8:03AM
I'm in line as I type this. Been here since 1:45-2:00 AM. We're getting 20 pre-orders and there's maybe 11 people here with two hours 'till opening. I'm first in line.
To the above poster, you may be right, but I've learned my lesson: if you really want it, get there early as hell just in case. I'm not wishing for it, but I'm going to laugh when you and all the people like you who think they're "so smart not to wait in line because there's no shortage" stroll into Best Buy or Toys R' Us at lunch time on launch day only to be laughed at for your ignorance. But like I said, I'm not wishing bad luck on you.
ten_twentyfour @ Nov 12th 2006 8:05AM
Bah, that comment was directed at Thaddeus.
Tetra @ Nov 12th 2006 9:25AM
I just got back from my local TRU and there was nobody there when they opened. I wasn't sure if they were doing pre-order because nobody was there, but after I found someone they said they where.. so I got one and zelda. They were also saying that only a few people who worked at the store knew they were preordering today and she asked me how I knew. They were also talking about how they have a bunch of wii stuff in stock, but they can't put it out yet.... not sure what it was.
jc @ Nov 12th 2006 9:31AM
Uggg... I'm heading over to Toys R US now to wait for 3 hours. I'll be so pissed if this is a fluke. Guess only myself to blame, and my retarded desire to get a wii next weekend.
Thaddeus @ Nov 12th 2006 9:43AM
Honestly if I had a Toys R Us within less than 100 miles from where I live, I would have been in line early this morning. But when I drove all the way there last time, the line was already way too long, so wasted 5 hours driving. I'll be at my local walmart for the midnight launch on Saturday, but not too early.
Denbowski @ Nov 12th 2006 10:00AM
Just got back from the Manchester, NH store. Not sure how many they had but I was able to get the last one. They let us in to pay for the pre-orders at maybe 9:40.
will7046 @ Nov 12th 2006 10:20AM
Went to my local Toys R us in Utica, NY, they had 15 systems, I got there at 7 and was fourth in line, most people started showing up when they saw the flyer and called. There were only four of us till about 9:30 when people started showing up quickly. No worries for me this week!!!
ten_twentyfour @ Nov 12th 2006 10:43AM
Just got back from camping 8 hours. Wasn't too bad. I was first in line, and got my Wii and Zelda reserved. Was very well handled. There were a lot of people in line for the Tickle Me Elmo as well. Then like 10 minutes to opening people started showing up expecting to get Wii's and Elmo's. I bought an elmo for the guy next to me in line (Number two) who was going to resell them to pay for his dog's medical bills. He was a cool guy.
All in all, MUCH better than having to camp 16 hours on launch day eve. I can now drive up to Toys R' Us promptly at 10:00 AM when it opens, bypass all the campers waiting in line, and grab my Wii. Good times, good times.
Oh, and there were 20 Wii's availible for preorder and at the time the store opened I think only like 11 or so were claimed.
Tim T @ Nov 12th 2006 10:54AM
I just got back from my local Toys R Us. I got there at 9AM (1 hour before the store opens), and was something like 25th in line. The store had 40 units, so I managed to preorder my system and a game or two.
The manager was friendly, and the whole thing was handled very well, in my opinion.
Skycap @ Nov 12th 2006 11:02AM
I just got back from a 5 hour camp, it was supposed to be a 8 hour camp, but a manager came out around 7 in the morning and gave slips to everyone. He said if we were not back by 11 with the slips, the Wii preorders will be sold to someone else. Everyone left shortly after that. I just scored myself 2 Wiis! That made my week alot better!
Will @ Nov 12th 2006 11:30AM
Just got back! I managed to get 2 Wii and 1 Zelda!
I am hoping that the profit from the Ebay Wii will cover the cost of some extra controllers!
Nin10dude @ Nov 12th 2006 6:19PM
Yeah, this is how I preordered my Wii.
Roflmon @ Nov 12th 2006 7:12PM
I waited in line for only 2 and a half hours at my Toys R Us and we were first in line. They had 11 units... it was cold (MN) but it wasn't bad at all really.
I was extremely happy. I love how it was hardly advertised, made life easier.
Hodge @ Nov 12th 2006 7:41PM
i was able to go to the toys r us in myrtle beach, sc at 2:30 this afternoon and preorder mine. i was soooo happy
