Steamy action as Wii & Zelda get ready to ship
Wii production facilities and employees are in full swing, packaging up what could be your preorder right before your very eyes. Reader CluelessJoe hit us up with some sweet b-roll footage, and we added a bit of a soundtrack to help spice things up, otherwise they would look like mindless drones serving the Queen bee, "BRING ME MY WIIMOTES!"
In less than a week those cardboard boxes will be arriving at doorsteps, stores and secret headquarters throughout North America. Will you be getting down with it?
[Thanks, CluelessJoe]

JodyAnthony @ Nov 13th 2006 3:15PM
sorry 3, but I believe they are in the horrible plastic of doom.
i've already got my wii, zelda, classic controller, extra wiimote, and extra nunchuck paid off. so yes, I will be getting down with my Wii.
Ritz @ Nov 13th 2006 3:16PM
The controllers in the Wii box do not, Richard, but the retail plastic packages are still of Satan =(
Drop A Load @ Nov 13th 2006 3:16PM
just got wood
LordMinogue @ Nov 13th 2006 3:17PM
Supply of the Wii is going to outstrip demand by far this season. I'd be supprised if all of the initial shippments sell out. 5 million units produced, but are there 5 million informed persons ready to buy? I doubt that.
mykie @ Nov 13th 2006 3:19PM
I took a summer job at Nintendo on that very assembly line.
No, you may not touch me.
Drop A Load @ Nov 13th 2006 3:20PM
Can I get that job of the dude moviing the boxes...I think my stupid ass can handle that.
Beano @ Nov 13th 2006 3:21PM
This is filth.
ME WANTS IT!!!
iceatcs @ Nov 13th 2006 3:25PM
Damn what all those american slaves? how much nintendo pay them? $0.50 cent a hour?
ElChino @ Nov 13th 2006 3:27PM
Seriously, if was that guy doing the moving the boxes job I would be scared as hell to be doing a job a monkey could do with ease.
ElChino @ Nov 13th 2006 3:30PM
This video should be shown at all high schools and titled: "The Affects of Dropping Out of High School".
Bennyishere @ Nov 13th 2006 3:33PM
That's hawt!
I miss Zelda... Too bad I love my 360, eh? :P
JodyAnthony @ Nov 13th 2006 3:33PM
"14. This video should be shown at all high schools and titled: "The Affects of Dropping Out of High School"."
What about calling it "The Effects of Dropping Out of High School" instead
Larb @ Nov 13th 2006 3:34PM
Man, that machine was impregnating all those Zeldas! Did you see that?!
Thrust, stamp, boom. Genetic codes IMPLANTED.
DojoRacoon @ Nov 13th 2006 3:35PM
May pants just got a little tighter
iceatcs @ Nov 13th 2006 3:35PM
ElChino.. wrong!
"The Affects of Die-hard Nintendo Fanboy"
cos they have no brain for highest jobs.
JodyAnthony @ Nov 13th 2006 3:38PM
The fact that iceatcs calls nintendo fanboys like myself stupid while a)not fixing the error of "affect" vs. "effect" and 2) writing that WONDERFULLY WELL WRITTEN sentence "cos they have no brain for highest jobs" makes me laugh.
iceatcs @ Nov 13th 2006 3:51PM
Can't see if you are die-hard nintendo fanboy, sorry if I am offence with you.
If you think you are, maybe you should get this job then ;)
P.S. don't care with my english cos it is not my first language
JodyAnthony @ Nov 13th 2006 3:55PM
I am a die-hard nintendo fanboy, and I am currently actually at my job, which is not anything involving moving an item from place a to place b
(well actually, it's data entry, so I guess it is moving information from paper a to computer b (hey, I never said I had a glamorous/good job :)
and relax, all the joshing between joystiq commentors is all in good fun, at least I like to think/hope so.
anonymous_dude @ Nov 13th 2006 3:56PM
Where are all the happy little elves?
JinFengLong @ Nov 13th 2006 3:56PM
affect is a verb, effect is a noun.
Mitsuo @ Nov 13th 2006 3:58PM
I absolutely love to see assembly lines for stuff. Especially Wii things.
*Pokes Mykie* Dammit and I was hoping a Wii would just poof right next to me too. T_T *pokes even more but now with a metal pipe and less of a poking motion and more of a up and down motion. And also a lot harder.*........*still nothing* DAMMIT! *gets a Rap CD* Oh...we're going to have some FUNNNN! MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH
velocitystrike @ Nov 13th 2006 4:02PM
Ah, come on, thats a bit harsh people. If they didn't do that job, you'd not be getting your Wii. Simple as.
^^;
Sidebuster @ Nov 13th 2006 4:18PM
A job is a job. At least they are working. Anyways, a job like that would be extremely mind numbing. You have to have strong mental stamina to go through the day.
Iscariote @ Nov 13th 2006 4:21PM
@24: "affect is a verb, effect is a noun."
Effect can also be a verb.
crono141 @ Nov 13th 2006 4:25PM
I'm a nintendo fanboy, and I'm at my job designing parts to make guns for the military!
SCAR FTW

@ JodyAnthony (#16)
YOU ROCK!!! Give JodyAnthony a star!!!
Reading that comment made my day!
Pal @ Nov 13th 2006 4:37PM
I watched this the other day without music. It was really depressing, but now Nintendo looks like a fun place to work for, even if you do the boring jobs!
visionep @ Nov 13th 2006 5:02PM
Reminds me of the good ole' Mr. Rogers videos where they would show how different things are made and packaged.
Ahh yes, very nice.
nick @ Nov 13th 2006 5:57PM
Anyone want to predict if theres going to be a Wiimote shortage?
I cant imagine it since they should have incentive to produce as many as possible because of the profit margin but the clerks I talked to at ToysRUs and Gamestop both said they anticipate that second wiimotes will be the hardest thing to come by (more so than even the console itself).
All heresay and speculation, but would suck if someone had to buy a second console just for another wiimote...
Paul Gale @ Nov 13th 2006 6:14PM
This is such a cool video. Factory mass production clips are usually fun to watch as is, but when it's videogame related, and in this case about Nintendo Wii and Zelda: Twilight Princess, well, it's even cooler.

The music is what really made the vid special. I just felt like pouring some champagne, laying out the satin sheets, and turning the mood lighting on to 'sexy'.
I heard Zelda was quite a monster in the sack. 70+ hours of sweet, sweet loving. Awww yeah :D
vectorelement @ Nov 13th 2006 6:54PM
Big ups to JodyAnthony on that one.
You really gotta respect and appreciate the manual labor that goes into these products that consumers trample each other over. Don't forget about the truck drivers that deliver these to the GameStops and EB Games and Toys R Us-es and Best Buys, etc. Those people are the real winners.
playclever @ Nov 13th 2006 7:10PM
Damn, that's tantalising. Roll on December 8th...
James @ Nov 13th 2006 8:12PM
Oh fuck yes. That is sexy.
semolina @ Nov 13th 2006 9:36PM
What's the name of the song you used to, shall we say, 'sexify' that clip?
