Is GTA the biggest selling game series in the world? Me thinks that title would go to Mr Mario.

Also the question "which of the seven deadly sins is video game character Ms. Pac-man most guilty of?" is a bit too objective to be a fair game show question. The nun might think that she shows too much pride with her bow or something...

I have a great story for another GTA. Everyone who has read it loved it and said that it would be a off the hook game. It's a deep story and it's like real life. And it has everything that people would look for in a GTA game. If you are interested in reading my story email and I will send it to you.

Mario by a massive margin. Even if you only count Super mario platformers (SMB 1-3, SMW, SM64, SMS, NSMB, Mario dwarfs the sales of GTA by at least a factor of three. If you add in Mario Tennis, kart etc we're talking an order of magnitude.

Hell, SMB1 has almost outsold the entire GTA series by itself.

Wait... Mario is now the name of a crime? What is it, attempting to step on people? "You're under arrest for two counts of Mario and a count of attempted Mario."

GTA is behind several series in sales, not just Mario. According to Wikipedia, sales of it as a series are tied for tenth (with the Dragon Quest series) all-time, behind luminaries like Mario, Zelda, Madden, and Pokemon.

As for the question being objective... you know "objective" means "fair and unbiased," right? I've never heard anyone complain something was too fair before.

I'd like to think that if nothing else, my influence would have let one of the nuns in my family get the Ms. Pac-Man question correct.

#5, I admit that was a mistake, I meant to say that it wasn't objective ie. not affected by personal feelings or interpretations

She's practically guilty of all the seven deadly sins.

Wrath - Watch her take out her revenge on the ghosts when they turn blue.
Greed - She runs around constantly collecting dots, as if it were her only purpose.
Gluttony - She eats everything, including dots, ghosts and food.
Lust - Remember those cutscenes in Ms Pac-Man? They'd be X-rated if that machine had the processing power.
Sloth - She can't be bothered to move herself around, instead requiring someone else to control her movements.
Envy - She may be married to Pac-Man, but she created Ms. Pac-Man purely out of spite.
Pride - In an all-out eating frenzy, where she loses herself to madness and depravity, she still wears a bow.

I was under the impression that the honour was held by The Sims!

AFAIK, The Sims has the honor of atrracting the largest number of female gamers. Since female gamers are silll in the minority, it doesn't make The Sims, the most played/popular game.

I wasn't sure if it was Mario or Pokemon that was the best selling, thanks guys.

And Owen Allen, I hope to God that you're a troll and not a retard who thinks people posting on an almost completely unrelated blog post want to read your fan fiction for GTA. Why don't you post it on a website for fanfics if you're serious. But, GTA? C'mon!

omfg, this reminds me of the pop culture tournament on VH1. "what is the name of the city in the clouds in the empire strikes back", The answer is clearly 'Bespin', but they said the answer was 'Cloud City'. WTF! what if someone said Bespin and they got it 'wrong'???????????

I thought Cloud City was the city and Bespin was the planet. Its like saying 'which city is the white house in?' and answering 'earth'

Sims is the best selling PC game. I don't think it comes close to other games though.
