Supe'man? We need that contraction, since god knows how hard R sounds are.

Too bad. I was expecting Small Arms. I'm getting tired of all these retro titles.

Um? I've got over 10 gig free so I think I can find some room for the demo but I'll pass.

With the release of Wii and it's VC, Microsoft will have to kick XBLA into high gear if it wants to compete. I was not impressed that only 4 XBLA games where available for months after launch, and this 1 game a week, is sad. They will have to start launching 1 retro and 1 original game each week. Extra decks for UNO or map packs should not count as XBLA content.

Are movies and TV shows going to count as XBLA content as well?

I seriously doubt whatever is released on XBLA would entice someone to NOT purchase a PS3 or Wii during launch if they had already planned to purchase one of those consoles.

And I think that no matter what is release on XBLA, someone is going to complain. It's not new. It's not retro. It's too much. It doesn't work well with the controller. etc etc.

I'm just glad it's a game release. But really, I wish Microsoft would drop the Wednesday release schedule and just release games whenever. I want to be surprised. As it is, we only seem to be finding out what is going to be released the day before anyway. And I'd really like to see more than one game released. Would it kill them to release 2-3 games in the same week? That way you can release old and new.

with all the retro arcade games, ms should release an arcade stick controller, just give it enough buttons to make it compatable with a bunch of different games. If i had a 360 and they released an arcade stick controller, I would totally buy one for some retro arcadey goodness.

Why do they let morons post news stories? 900mb is about average for a demo. So the idiot has to say its bloated and 20gb is too small. Delete your Kameo demo you havent played in a year and like magic you have room.

"Spider-Man was fun for a hot minute, Hulk added some chaos, and Superman, well, maybe EA needs to point that finger back at itself. Superheroes in the sandbox is past trite"

Trite comment there, Mr. Ransom-Wiley. Guess you don't have a 360 :(

Just played the Superman demo, and I gotta say ... I thought it was pretty awful. Flight controls were WAY too complicated, and what's with the decided lack of actual Superman music? After all, flying through the sky is 45 percent more fun when John Williams scores it.

I called this on my blog, it was in the Upcoming Games list on Xbox.com and had an official forums.

Small arms now also has an Official Forum, but RoboBlitz was already released on PC... which one will it be?

Yay. Retro....

I'm so friggin' sick of retro games... I can't wait for "newer" games like Sonic: High Speed, but I don't need Pac-Man, Defender and other games from the 80's! I just want them to skip a generation... Or at least improve on them, in stead of a straight port with poor multiplayer and the same, hideous menu layout.

But most of all, I want indie games. Something new!

I'm glad to see defender, but it should have been one of the first titles out of the gate. I'm hoping Nintendo does a better job, but I'm sure they'll be focusing on their own IP at the start (Donkey Kong, SMB, etc).

JodyAnthony: We make arcade controllers for the 360.

Personally, I always hated Defender. But, at least it was an actual game, instead of an Uno deck... I appreciate their attempt to put out only quality titles (Namco/Bandai and Lumines excepted), but they really need to release more stuff. They claim to have a lot in the pipeline, but the VC is going to have almost as many titles as soon as the Wii is out. Now granted, it's not a fair comparison since the VC stuff is just emulated and all of the XBLA has at least some new content added, but most consumers aren't going to see it that way. I guess a slow supply of quality is better than a glut of crap (Urban Champion anyone? That game sucked in 1985), but I just feel the supply is a little TOO slow. I be happy with like a game on Wednesday and a game on Saturday or something. They are spending too much time on this dumbass movie/tv crap (which will fail, unless a larger HD is released), when they should be spending more time with the download service that is actually making them money. I love XBLA, but seriously, there needs to be more quality content.

I actually agree here- the retro thing is wearing thin. Time for some more of those indy games to show up.

To think I've seen the day someone trash-talked Defender, one of the most awesome games of all time.

I doubt you've ever made it past Wave 5.

Someone needs to make a realistic Superman game -- where Superman flies through the level at near the speed of light, issuing a spray of splattered body parts of anyone who dares stand against him. Each level would take less than 5 seconds to complete. If anyone manages to get some Kryptonite, Superman would throw a car at them from a safe distance. The End.
