Kids schooled in Second Life
Kids these days with their online avatars ... Why, when we went to school, we we had to put on clothing and shuffle off to a real classroom. Today's kids are apparently taking classes within Second Life, CNN says that more than 60 colleges and other educational institutions hold classes inside Second Life. The article also describes a real sense of community between remote students in the virtual world, almost as if they were sharing an actual classroom.
This might make us sound old, but we don't quite believe that the quality of the virtual meeting space can approach the real world. But we old-school curmudgeons have never taken a class within Second Life and might be underestimating its power; maybe we'll be telling our grandkids what a real-world school-bell sounded like.

I think thats bull. Has anyone been able to do anything in that game for weeks? I cancelled my subscription the same day I tried it. IT WAS AWFUL.
Lag was so severe and you could barely even walk, forget about reading help topics in game.
Lots of access denied crap.
This is just a ploy by the jackass that runs it to waste more real life money on this farce.

A community isn't a community unless you pay real money for virtual furniture. Duh.
Anyway, good for them, but I like the opportunity to check out girls while I get my learn on.

Ack! What is the world coming to? It's happening! Soon, all of life will be virtual, movies, games, eating (who knows how that'll work), bathroom necessities (I won't even wonder how that'll turn out), and even fornicating. I don't want it to come to that! Make it stop! I want to go back to good old MS-DOS, please?
STILL WAITING FOR GOLDEN SUN 3 DAMMIT!

I like the idea of the convergence of technology and education. I think it really speaks about the increasing ubiquity of me-Sweet christmas are those leg warmers?!

You know what?
This is just stupid. No one cares about second life- THATS WHY BARELY NO ONE RESPONDS.
