Shinjuku Wolf: Capcom does the 'Yakuza' thing

Shinjuku Wolf?Remember Shinji Kazuma's Finder Love for PSP? Of course you don't. Well, Capcom is giving Kazuma one more chance. As an action-adventure set against the backdrop of the urban underworld, Shinjuku Wolf (PlayStation 2) looks to have more mainstream appeal than Kazuma's previous work, a voyeurism sim; though 'Shinjuku Wolf' (in our opinion) lends itself to a more provocative premise: Amaterasu painting 'life' back into Shinjuku's red-light district Kabukicho.

While Shinjuku Wolf will likely mimic elements of Sega's Yakuza series (also set in Tokyo's Shinjuku ward), the game will attempt the ever-risky cel-shaded look. Shinjuku Wolf is due springtime in Japan -- its success there will no doubt influence the possibility of Western localization.
