Joystiq receives hundreds of user-generated comments on any given post. Extremely big or controversial stories can accumulate several hundred even 1,000 comments on a given day. Independent of validity, here are some of our favorite and most recurring reader comments:

I seem to get this without even indicating a system of preferance. I make one comment about Sony and I'm a Nintendo "fanboi", if I make a comment about the Wii then I'm a 360 "fanboi", if I make one comment about the 360 then I'm a Sony "Fanboi." The wheel just keeps on turning.

FIRST POST!!!!!

WOW, I would of guess that it is that damn annoying phrade that gets used everywhere far to much...you know the one...I'll give you a hint, it involves robots and overlords. yeah...thats the one...IT SUXERS!

Does anybody know of a games blog where the writers don't make posts throwing thinly-veiled insults at their readers? Of course a lot of your readers are going to be jackasses; this is the Internet. You don't have to return fire with pussy-footed insults couched in faux-appreciative language.

Who cares anyway Wii is just a Gamecube with a fancy controller but atleast Nintendo made money on the GameCube not like M$ or $ony so the xbox1.5 should do well. We also know that Sony says "shipped" not sold so their numbers will be off and lets face it metroid may not be a halo killer but it still kicks ass. So wii FTW!!! I bet no one reads this because its not the FIRST POST!!!

thank you joystiq. i think that you provide a real service and some days after a long day of work coming home and reading this blog is a real pleasure. your mix of wit and cynicism in your posts delights. i very often read the comments and enjoy the insightful discussion that occurs. i am very happy to see that you have gotten sick of the immature actions of those that don't appreciate what a fine job you do.

Just because they are most common, doesn't mean they are popular. Drivel like "First post" and "M$" and other fanboy bashing are pointless and bring nothing to the table.

Colour palette IS important though. One of the reasons why I still think Windwaker is the most gorgeous Zelda. Darker is not a direction I embrace Zelda going in.

I still don't get why people are so bitter about Vlad. The sign-reading comment was a bit off (read:stupid), but I can see what he means about interrupting gameplay, kinda.

Personally, I think that if Joystiq adopted a commenting program like Digg, half of the problems and wars in the comment sections (and comments much like those) would become obselete. Plus it narrows down the time it takes to filter through the crap that has no need to be read. Also, the star system is kinda shady since as soon as you get a star, your opinion automatically becomes more valuable than someone else's reguardless of the topic, that and the criteria for getting a star is questionable.

Just thought I'd throw that out there...
