WOW those guys wanted to be there... that was one of the most depressing uninformative vids ever. Anyway, we all know that PS3 hopefuls are already waiting and they're not all gunna get a console... What's the supply and demand looking liuke for the Wii? No lines have started up yet and it looks like there will plenty available. I can't get outside of the store I'M waiting at until the night b4, so how big will the lines be? etc? etc?

oh ya... in reference to #3s comment, the PS3s are all gonna be in (and already are) megaduper lockdown, but those associates don't look like they're too worried about the Wii's getting taken (they're right in the middle of the store lying on a table).. thoughts?

Just came from my local mall where they had a bunch of Wii's setup so people could try them. This was my first time to play a Wii and you know what...meh. I was not impressed with either the Wii-motes or the graphics. Yes, I know the graphics are not supposed to be PS3/360 level, but I thought my Gamecube and certainly my Xbox could do better. Playing ExciteTruck holding the controller was worse than using a standard controller, Wii-Sports should be called Weeble-Sports, and either the TV running Zelda was having problems or it looks like ass. (The menus looked ok, so I'm not sure it was the TV's fault.) Also, someone should tell Nintendo that "zoning" in RPG's is so last generation.

Went to Wal-Mart today for the usual grocery fix, and low and behold, there were 6-8 people waiting outside for playstation 3s. I asked one guy about the price and he replied " thats what Ebay is for, im gonna make me some money'.

I'm sorry man. Wii Fanboys are going to rip into you shortly, because something is obviously wrong with you, since the wii is perfect. How dare you not love the Wii!

Just remember they are fanboys.

Is it just me, or does the packaging look exactly like an iPod's? Not trying to rip on Nintendo -- Apple obviously does things right with its marketing -- just seems a little eerily familiar.

@Aex

I'm a bit of a Nin fan guy myself (too old to be a boy anymore lol). I've owned Nintendo systems back to the SNES (was playing computer games when the NES was out). Gamecube is one of my fav systems and I love my DS Lite, but I haven't felt that this latest effort on Nin's part had all it's oars in the water.

Thanks for the warning. I'll put my shields. ;)

Well, uh, its great that, uh, nintendo chose a company that, uh, cant hire a speech, uh, writer. I think that, uh, maybe, uh, UPS should send, uh, someone that doesnt ,uh, say uh so many, uh, times.

Can you say, uh, dumbass.

He coulda at least had a notecard with his "speech" and had it out instead of trying to be a brainiac and saying "uh" about 100 times.

Actually I just played Excite Truck at my mall and I thought it was awesome. Definitely a new experience that makes the game so much more interesting. I am looking much more forward to getting a Wii after playing it. The controls are setup very well and it is very responsive. The controller was also comfortable to hold sideways. Excite Truck itself seems like it would get kind of boring after an hour, and the graphics were sub-gamecube but I didn't even pay attention to the graphics as I was playing only when I stopped to look at it. The controls were very tactful and also only took about five minutes to learn. And if you are tired of your arms getting tired, I doubt you should. Just play the Wii before taking anyone else's opinions to heart; that will make a huge difference in your final decision.

Oh yeah, Gamestop had their Wii shipment in since the 14th, yesterday. I know a guy that works there and he let me in the back room. I picked up a box and everything. Damn did I want to take one, but morals. No PS3's at the time but maybe they arrived today.

Anyways, good luck in the next few days of craze.

-JJ

P.S.
I think Nintendo should use the picture above for their promotion, ha.

I work for eb and we got our ps3's and wii's today, we barely got enough wii's to cover preorder's and not even close to covering the ps3 preorders. the ps3 box is heavy, and surprisingly so is the wii, alot heavier than you'd think

Nintendo's stategy seems pretty obvious to me. They are going to have their product on display when people go to buy a PS3. When the PS3 aren't avalible they will see the Wii are in stock.

The main reason Nintendo started loosing with N64 is they didn't have enough units to meet demand at launch. With the PlayStations library, third party support and avalibility many players opted towards Sony. This time it's in Nintendo's favor as they will have 4,000,000 units by the year end and Sony with less than 40,000.

Even if Sony's PS3 does manage to catch up to Wii's system sales in 2007 Sony's System to game ratio will be very poor. Sony is depending on software and blu-ray sales for PS3's success as Sony is selling each PS3 at a loss.

My prediction is Nintendo takes Japan, XBox 360 takes Europe, Nintendo and Microsoft both take the American Market.
