"Nice parroting of Ann Coulter's November 8th column. Good job thinking for yourself."

Actually, I've thoguht the dem party was dying ever since 2004 election, when republicans picked up more seats in congress. It showed a nationwide shift to the right, and the war was already unpopular then (thought not as unpopular as now). Ann Coulter just put it into more stinging words than I ever could.

You are partially right. But how come there were so few contested seats relative to the total seats?

And welfare was broken up until very recently when it was fixed. There were (and are) plenty of people taking advantage of welfare to make a living doing nothing but having babies. The more kids you have, the more welfare you get. This is all well and good till you get deadbeat parents (or deadbeat single mothers) who pop out kids as quick as they can to boost their welfare checks.

This has strayed far from the topic at hand. The guy who called wal-mart probably just wanted one for his own and decided to do some name dropping in hopes of upping his chances.

If we all had to take heat for all the stupid things our employees do, we'd all be in serious trouble, no matter who you are or "what side" you're on.

If you've never been the boss, you have no right to say a word about this, because you're probably one of the minions who would do a stupid thing and have it reflect poorly on your boss.

Actually, quite a few were contested, but the key here is realistically contested.

As for why there aren't more realistically contested seats, that's due to every politician's friend, gerrymandering. The Republicans took heat for doing that after the 2000 Census, and it looks quite possible that the Democrats get to take heat for the same reason.

I've heard this argument before. I've yet to see proof that this is such a widespread problem as often said. Given that the government is aggressive in keeping track of the details of everyone who collects, there should be a large mountain of proof beyond that which is anecdotal or someone's version of "common sense."

As for the topic, it does look increasingly likely that it was just a kid doing something stupid. I suppose a politician doesn't exactly look for intellectual rigor when dealing with the copy boy.

Ahh, John Edwards. He was a cockmonger as a lawyer, he was a cockmonger in Congress, he was a cockmonger as a VP candidate, and now we see he's just a flat-out cockmonger generally. The scuttlebutt is that he first found out about this story during a conference call with the unions that're financing this whole anti-Walmart thing in the first place. HAR!
