With the PS3 a paltry few hours away, Sony heads are pulling all the stops to make those who don't get one feel
In an interview with N'Gai Croal of Newsweek, Mr. Dille calls the (in)famous crying baby ad "the ultimate Rorschach test." He explains that whatever you feel about the PS3 after watching the commercials that "those answers are true, if that's what it means to you." He also goes on to dismiss Microsoft's accelerated demos for Gold members and blogging community, indicating the PS3 is in a far better position in both areas.
So, if the crying baby ad is the ultimate Rorschach test -- and whatever we think about it is true -- does that mean the PS3 is creepy and disturbing if we felt that way? While Mr. Dille is quite confident in Sony's efforts, we haven't exactly seen this massive influx of positive buzz about the PS3. Trucking out a bunch of celebrities isn't proof; they're what we call paid spokespeople.

Crying baby - represents your child crying because you spent his/her college fund to buy a PS3
Empty room - represents you selling everything you own just to have enough money to buy the PS3.
Ok, ok, so it's not THAT much. :P

No. You can't see reality. Reality is showing that sony is a POS company that relys on hype to sell POS hardware.

I too felt like floating in the air, reconstructing my physical being, then exploding in a vibrant array of colors (mostly organs) to paint a room, all in anticipation of the PS3.
Not.

Well, I guess it's a save-face statement to keep investors' faith in the company since they're losing $200-$300 per unit. With manufacturing issues and soon-to-be hardware problems, they need all the investor faith they need.

When you talk to your friends and coworkers about how idiotic or creepy the baby is in the PS3 ads you are just furthering the spread of PS3 hype. Sony's ads have been idiotic since the start of the Playstation brand and it has done them well.

If it wasn't for the games, they wouldn't get a dime out of me. Especially for that ugly abomination-of electronic-device-confused-by-Crecente's-relatives-as-a-waffle-iron.
