How on earth can an "HDMI" bullet be a typo? The copy writer wanted to write "VGA" or "Component" and then he suffered a mind fart? HDMI was listed on that box on purpose. It can only mean that MS _is_ working on an updated Xbox 360 version with an additional HDMI output but aren't going to sell it this year after all. Unless the denial of this rumor is just a smoke screen. MS is also vehemently denying a forthcoming larger HD but it is a dead certainty that we'll see one very soon. You can't have a full-fledged download service with a measly 20GB HD.

I don't see why they are making such a big deal about the HDMI cable. They already said they can do it without changing the hardware. There is a desire for it...although this gamer doesn't care what-so-ever.

Making a cable would just be another thing to even up the specs with Sony. What's the problem?

The 360 may not be able to output a digital signal, which explains the lack of dvi and hdmi. It not just as easy as making a cable with a hdmi plug on the end.

I find it very difficult to believe that M$ would develop a "next generation" console that does NOT output a digital video signal. Component is great of coarse but it's still analogue...

Microsoft said that the Xbox 360 is already capable of doing digital output (HDMI/DVI), its just that when the 360 got released, HDMI TVs are a extremely small market. I am sure, as more people want it, MS will eventually release one. Then again, they still have yet to release a larger HDD...

But I don't see what the big deal about HDMI is, besides people worried about HDCP. Its just another way to connect your equipment to your TV, that's about it...

It's not JUST another way to connect to your TV, it would possibly also allow those of us without VGA capable TV's to upconvert standard DVD's to 720p or 1080i...

Plus HDMI often provides a cleaner, sharper picture than its analog counterparts, but mainly the upconverting aspect for me.

D Terminal != HDMI

D Terminal == Hi-Def Component bundled in one cable, common in Japan.
