It is definitley a pain trying to find an extra nunchuck. I was in downtown Miami today, where a Target and Circuit City had just opened very recently (the Circuit City is 3 days old). The Circuit City was loaded with Wii points, VCs, Zelda games, and Wiimotes...and the Nunchucks? The guy said they sold out in one morning.

"We have some"....huh?!?! yup, they received a shipment of only 10 units TODAY. 3 were left. 2 were left after i bought one...with a copy of Zelda. Still no accessories though....

I wonder if this is why the wiifinder showed far smaller inventories (wiinventories?) than the Walmarts, Best Buys, and Targets...

I stopped in at a GameStop 2day to see when they were opening on Friday, and of course to see if they got any yet, and the girl behind the counter gave me a strange look.. Almost as if she wanted to say yes, but she only stated that they are all sold out.. But she showed me the Ad that stated that they are opening at 7am. Note also that it said ALL STORES (EB included), and on the back page it had the listing for the Wii.. and in bold letters it stated.. NINTENDO WII IS NOW AVAILABLE almost 100% pos that thats how it was phrased..

Then I finally got to play on a KIOSK.. yeah lil late but yeah.. GameStop by my house doesnt even have a kiosk.. After playing it now, lets just say, Im gunna camp out infront of my GameStop..

Funny you mention it. I got three controllers and two classic controllers today... but they didn't have any nunchucks! Well, will do Friday!

Stopped by the local EBGames and the local Gamestop at 6:00 am for the advertised 7:00 am opening. EBGames had six people in line ahead of us, Gamestop had 15 people in line. We waited at EBGames until the employee showed up. He informed the line that they only had two Wii and two PS3. When we left line at 7:20, the line had grown to over fifty people, and the store had not opened yet. Similar story at Gamestop. They only had six Wii and no PS3. By 7:20 am, there were close to 100 people in line.

The best part? The stores were not opening until 8:00 AM. Both stores had no extra controllers or other accessories. It was an awful experience and a complete waste of time.

Went to one of the higher volume EB Games in Phoenix. I got there a little later than I was intending, and ended up 7th in line. 6:30, the manager rolls up and checks their inventory. They only had 6.

I think I'm going to spend the rest of my day pranking the Wii scalpers that list their phone numbers on craigslist.

Well, that was a joke. I drove to the GameStop out in the Gateway district of Portland, and at around 6:45 AM there was a line of at least 20-25 people. So I headed to the Lloyd Center mall which was opened early. I got to the GameStop in there and there were only 5 of us in line, but as soon as the employee arrived she said that she only had ONE Wii in stock.

So, maybe some GameStop/EBGames stores did stock up, just none in Portland.

finally it was my lucky day -- happened to call toys r us literally minutes after the truck pulled in around 10am with a new shipment. raced over there and snagged a system, the cashier said they'd had a line around the block at 4am but no consoles, turned everyone away when they opened at 5am. ironically as the slacker who slept in, i got the spoils! :D

Thanks engadget / wiifanboy! Thanks to you, I showed up at EB yesterday and got sixth in line! More than 25 people showed up by 7:00am and, well let's just say the eigth in line did not go home with a wii (which everyone was in line for). Oddly, though, the ninth thru fourteenth had an option for a consolation prize: a chance to plump down $600 on a PS3!!! That's right, they had five PS3s. Oh well, I got what i came for, not some $600 potential profit off of ebay!

I targeted a mall store near me -- GameStop Highland Mall, Austin, TX. I'm in a big university city, so I figured the mall closest to UT might be an easy mark over Thanksgiving weekend. Also this GameStop was opening at 6 because the entire mall opened then. I drove by every couple of hours all night -- no crowd outside the mall. At 4:30, I saw that the outer doors were open (turns out Kay-Bee Toys opened at 5), so I went in and plopped myself down in front of GameStop. 1st in line. They had at least 9 Wii's and 1 PS3.

Thanks for the tip, Wii Fanboy!

I got in line at 7PM on Thanksgiving Evening, which made me customer #1 for a Wii. When the employee got in at 6AM, he informed everyone that he only had 5 units. Person #5 got to the line at about midnight, meaning people waited about 6 hours in 29 degree weather for absolutely nothing.

I wasn't taking any chances... As long as the store had at least one Wii, I was getting one. Next time Nintendo releases a new console, I hope i'm living some other place than Wisconsin. :)

All the EBs in my area got less than 6 Wiis and only 1 20gig PS3s for Black Friday. So much for "stocking up" with fresh inventory!

The EB Games in Southeast San Antonio, TX had 5 Wiis. We went by at 10pm, 12am, and 2 am. No lines. Decided to nap. Went back by at 5am and one guy was in line, so I plopped my happy but behind him. I need another damn controller though.
