Knights of the Nine screens, availability update

Bethesda's Oblivion download site is listing Dec. 4 as the availability date for Knights of the Nine, the latest mini expansion for Elder Scrolls IV. However, RPGDot is reporting that Knights is now available on Xbox Live. A sneak attack to be sure, given today is the busiest travel day of the year and many 360 owners are away from their precious console. Anyone download it yet? If not, you can still scope out over 20 new screen shots at ElderScrolls.net.

Downloaded it this afternoon. Had to drive into town to a friends because no broadband access at the house. Lucked up on it being available. Heading home to play now.

Damn! I wish I hadn't left my 360 at school. I hope this is good. Bethesda's Star Trek products for DS and PS2 sure have sucked it up. Lets hope haven't taken the same turn with this. Really doubtful though.

I got it this afternoon, but everytime I try and play it it crashes when i talk to people about the first new quest!

I bought it yesterday on PC. Nice that it includes all the other official mods (horse armor, orrery, etc.)as well.

Does anyone know if this can be bought for the 360 other than through live? My friend is really into Oblivion, but has no live connection, so any info on a physical disc for Knights of the Nine would be appreciated. Thanks.

AKA, I hacked my firmware to play pirated games and I don't want my box to get bricked by the updates.
Petrie @ Nov 22nd 2006 7:51PM
I don't think we'll be getting a physical disk on this one.
Quick question though, I've just began to really get into Oblivion, should I finish the game and then download this content, or would it be better enjoyed as part of the overall game?

lol, nice Joe. Real nice.

Oblivion's open-ended, so there's really no reason you couldn't play KotN's quests to take a break from the main questline.
It's up to you.

I really really need help. I downloaded it, and it says that I've downloaded it on the game's content list, but nothing is happening ingame. No messages, no notes, no nothing. I re-downloaded it, and the same thing happened. Anyone else getting this?
Skullivan @ Nov 22nd 2006 11:07PM
It's not really a sneak attack as it was announced for release on 11/21 over a month ago:

I have the same issue. I purchased it and downloaded it and booted up Oblivion and i went from town to town trying to get the quest. I waited in the empire city. then i slept in the empire city. then i talked to about 12 people and looked for rumors. nothing. how do i ge the quest to start?!
Ninegauger @ Nov 23rd 2006 1:40AM
The downloadable content actually works wherever you are in the game so I wouldn't wait especially if you're really into it now...

To activate this quest head down to Anvil.
Talk to a guard and he will point you in the correct direction..

If you believe Bethesda's press releases, Knights of the Nine and all the other micro-update releases will come out on a separate CD for the PC version. After being disappointed with the Horse Armor, I haven't yet downloaded any other official mods on the 360. Given the high chance of hardware failure, I don't trust that all this content will still be available for me to download two or three years down the road. I would also prefer having the mods on disk, the way that Tribunal and Bloodmoon were released for Morrowind.
Alan @ Nov 23rd 2006 9:49AM
I downloaded it this afternoon but I have yet to try it out.
Ty @ Nov 24th 2006 12:28PM
So is Knights of the Nine supposed to be like another game almost? Sort of like Tribunal and Bloodmoon? Or is it more of an add-on that just has some new characters, a few quests, etc.
Rob @ Nov 26th 2006 7:15PM
I'm not quite done with the Knights of the Nine yet, but so far, it has been awesome. I love all the new armor, weapons, enemies, puzzles, content, and even a new "home". This addition has added much needed additional depth, and I hope that they don't stop coming up with more content. If you haven't gotten KOTN yet, do so........NOW!
Rob @ Nov 28th 2006 12:46AM
This addition rocks. While no, it's not a NEW GAME, it does add some totally sweet new elements to the game. Here are a few things that it adds that rock:
1. New set of armor (Crusader armor)
2. New locations (Including a new crib for you to enjoy)
3. Some really sweet dungeon puzzles.
4. New weapons and enemies.
And more, if you were like me, and played the ____ out of Oblivion, this is a must, and you'll find yourself playing nothing but Oblivion all over again......at least until you beat it.
waxc3 @ Nov 30th 2006 2:10PM
i have heard in numerous places that a 360 disc will be released that has all of the downloadable content on it.
i last saw it on the scroller bar on Attack of the show on G4.
i hope this IS true. i want all the updates but can not download anything (no broadbanders round here).
