PSA: How to change your Wii-mote volume
If you don't believe in the use of instruction manuals -- and lord knows we don't -- than you too may have been confused on how to change the volume on your Wii-mote. Yes, it actually can be lowered to avoid that tinny noise that is driving gamers mad ... especially during Zelda. To change the volume, hit the home button on your Wii-mote and then select the controller you are using from the lower-third of the screen. Voila! A volume screen is clearly displayed so you can adjust that shrieking banshee noise to your heart's content.

Kick ass! I just assumed the volume was fixed.

i'm suprised people didn't know this.
oh well.
its not thier fault if they wanna play the wii more than they want to read instructions.
Kevin @ Nov 22nd 2006 7:48PM
I thought this was pretty easy to find out? :P Ah well, at least everyone will know now.
Papa @ Nov 22nd 2006 7:48PM
Are you serious? Maybe it's just me but I always like to mess around with settings. Don't know why some people never figure out that the speaker had volume levels in the Home menu.

A clear cut case of RTFM in my opinion, why its Joystiq news i'll never know. I would of let the idiots go mad.
Squeek @ Nov 22nd 2006 8:29PM
This was my only gripe in Zelda until I figured out how to change the volume.
Now I am quite positive it is one of the greatest games ever made.
Goofyman @ Nov 22nd 2006 8:38PM
Really? I found out at a test unit in Gamestop, I was tinkering with it there. I guess as #4 said, people don't like to look around settings...

PS3's menus are so deep no one even knows it can merge with other devices like the Dawson Creek Trapper Keeper 2001.

I love my Wii! Don't you?
Seriously, Wii Sports is the shiznit. And boxing is a crazy intense exercise.
Just watch. In ten years all the Wii players will be tone, fit, fighting machines, while the PS3/360 players will be fat couch potatoes. :P

If all else fails use fire

You know what happens when you assume...

Just an FYI: This changes the volume for ALL connected remotes. They can't be changed independently of eachother. Maybe a future firmware upgrade could change it?

am i the only one that really enjoys the wiimote speaker?
Aprime @ Nov 23rd 2006 2:09AM
Wii annoyance #00?: You can't get out of Gamecube mode using the Wiiremote's home button.
It's as if it literally turned into a Gamecube when you play Gamecube games.
Ben @ Nov 23rd 2006 2:32AM
What's wrong with the speaker? I think it's a cool addition in Zelda...it makes it that much more immersive. The controller speaker has some really great uses in other games too, especially Rayman.
Ashitaka96 @ Nov 23rd 2006 4:50AM
I like the speaker too. I think it adds to the immersion too.
I agree with Aprime, you should be able to exit out of Gamecube games into the Wii menu.
mr8ucket @ Nov 23rd 2006 3:30PM
I also enjoy the wii speaker in zelda, but it only needs to be on the 2nd voulme level to be heard. anything above 3 is just too much.
PaleGringo @ Nov 23rd 2006 8:04PM
Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't the whole "My controller is talking to me" make Wii delight #002 or somesuch? I'll go back and do some checking, but it would seem from popular opinion that this is more of an annoyance than a delight, for the record.
blackace @ Nov 24th 2006 12:41AM
thank god, im in high school and was grounded and unable to actually play my wii. So i would wait till midnight then play it and that damned wimote is so loud it makes it really hard to play for fear of gettin busted, Now i can play zelda without that annoying sound and play my wii (that i do deserve anyway cus i bought it after working and waited in line for it.) without any worries
Shlomo @ Nov 25th 2006 11:27AM
RTFM. How many times can I say that before it gets annoying?
