Geez, oh man! He's earning $15 million per year, and yet he's asking for free stuff from companies? Who does he think he is?

Yeah it pisses me off how rich celebrities use their status to get free stuff, when they can very well afford it. Us average joes have to spend money so should they. Also if its not about money then he could have just camped out for one like the rest of us.
Ohh wait that would be below them. They would hire someone to camp out for them.

All you guys need to realize. Gilbert Arenas could be one of the most gifted pure scorers since Tracy McGrady before his back injury. Too bad he's insane. He's Agent Zero, the Black President, he's crazy. He plays internet poker during halftime. His blog is done out of pure fun, he doesn't seriously think he deserves to be given something for nothing. Besides being a gifted scorer he's also a great success story - he was a low, unharelded draft choice that earned his way into an NBA rotation an eventually a starting spot. He's also hilarious.

With Gilbert you don't think or judge, you just wait for the laughter.

Malvarius, you are such a moron. He was obviously willing to pay for it, but he thought he could get his hands on one while they're in short supply just by dropping his name. It's not like some store employee is just gonna say "Well Gilbert, with you bein' a celebrity athlete and all, I'd be glad to pay the $600 for you."

What Brian said, Gilbert's blog post is just a joke. Guy is hilarious and a little crazy (it doesn't seem to be an act).

He's also a good guy, basically adopted some orphan, gives tons of money to charity (even relative to his salary).

Ryan- your obviously the moron, half way down my paragraph I said "Also if its not about the money". I was simply stating that whether it was about the money or not, he needs to just bite the bullet and should have camped out like the rest of us. He is not special in my book. Now if he was a poor cancer patient, then by all means use your power to get one.

The whole point of the story was that someone with his "celebrity pull" couldn't even get one.
You know they have reading comprehension as part of a school curriculum for a reason. Learn to read, and comprehend.

Malvarius, if you can comprehend, then you must understand this is more a work of satire than an actual series post.

And I don't agree that paying someone to stand in line for you is just so you aren't belittled. Sure, some celebs may think that way, but hell, if I had that kind of money, I sure the hell wouldn't wait.(and in fact, I know people who had their friends do it for them, and they're no hot shot)

ah Gilbert...quirky as usual. This is more of Gilbert sort of giving himself a chip on his own shoulder, i think it makes him play better. I love him, he's hilarious. I do agree with him though, he doesn't get enough respect. Sure, the Wizards aren't that good, but he's one of the few guys in the league who can drop 40 consistently.

You all don't get Gilbert Arenas.

His entire career is built off of him having a chip on his shoulder. His number, 0, is supposedly based off of the number of minutes per game the coaches told him he'd get while playing at Arizona.

The guy has to constantly psyche himself into thinking that the world doubts him, and as a result, he's a really quirky bastard.

As a result, I don't think he even asked for a Wii/PS3, he's just saying that LeBron or D-Wade would have just automatically gotten one and he feel disrespected because he didn't.

Whatever it takes for you to get going in the morning, dude.

Funny story abot LeBron– I was camping out for the PS3 here in Cleveland at Circuit City. Not a stone's throw away is a Best Buy. Some of the BB employees came up to CC just to check out the line at the competition. A couple of them how the entire line at the Best Buy was REALLY nervous because last year LeBron James went around Cleveland and bought up 15 Xbox360's that Best Buy had...despite the fact that there were people in line. Anyway, everyone in the Best Buy line was VERY nervous that the same thing would happen his year.

One of the people in the line with us at Circuit City said she heard the exact same thing happened at the Best Buy in Mentor, OH (a Cleveland suburb).
He just offered to pay more, as well as being considered a "prefered customer" who shops at the store all the time.

The Best Buy employees also told us that despite what his image consultants and others would have us believe, LeBron James is actually a "total as-hole"

Ultimately, though, I haven't heard that he came and bought up a bunch of PS3's.

Well, I don't think eBay is a good solution, don't you think a seller is going to jot down the address when he realises he's sending a package to Gilbert Arenas, I sure would. Then again, you can probably easily find out that address... oh well

Please don't get me wrong- I am a huge Gilbert Arenas fan but I think that this serves him right because too often celebrities and these overpaid crybaby athletes think they should get first dibs at all the new items. The companies that make these items are only making it worse by catering to the "A" list people anyway. Stand in line like the rest of us.

I applaud him for not paying the ridiculous E-bay prices. There's no way in hell I would be stupid enough to pay a penny above asking price.

Let those katts sit with their units and lose sleep every day wondering if they'll be able to profit and get the week back of their life where they earned roughly 3.50 cents an hour(based on 1 week of waiting on line)or 7.00 - 9.50 if they managed to get 1700.00 on ebay.

It's hilarious when you actually do the math; LMAO!!!!

Let me put some people out of business right now in NYC holding Nintendo Wii's. Nintendoworld NYC located on 48th street between 5th and 6th avenue has had DAILY replenishments since launch day. If you call them any day of the week; they will tell you to arrive at 8AM the next day when they have a replenished supply. LOL!

Now for the Sony Gougers. The Sony PS3 has 2 replenishments per week at the Sony Style stores. You have to be persistent and call every day, they'll let you know when they will get their next shipment.

Be smart people! 250.00 for your wii and 499 or 599 for the ps3 is the most you should pay. I passed on the PS3 twice already at regular price.

Those of you who spent weeks online to sell on E-bay.
LOL!!!! Right back at ya!!!!!!!

What a d-bag, this guy is just like the rest of the thugs that now comprise the NBA, selfish athletes. Basketball is the worst pro sport today(excluding nascar cause i don't consider it a sport), they all have no class no fundamentals, just that and1 shit. The sport has been soulless since Jordan left.

Gilbert Arenas is probably the most un-"thug" like basketball player in the NBA. He's not selfish at all--he actually has some charities unlike others and is probably one of the funniest guys there. (read his blog)

The Wii is NOT that hard to get. I've seen them just sitting on the shelves, in stock (I asked) at both a Best Buy and a Circuit City since launch. Nintendo made a lot of these things and more are arriving all the time.

Come on Gilbert, go hire someone to track one down for you. Sheesh.

the guy gets paid out his ass to play basketball. repeat: play basketball. that's like being payed to write about videogames (ahem...). but he even gets payed very well for it. so, frankly, he should consider himself lucky to do something he considers fun (i'm assuming) for a living, regardless of the income. it pisses me off when rich people can never appreciate anything and they just whine about never having enough.

God people he was just joking read the blog, in fact i will post what the hell he said since you all are too stupid to read. He wasnt asking for a free one, he meant he should have been able to purchase one. he never said they should give him one. and lastly the guy is the most generous player with his money and donates alot to charites and family. I know your all jealous that your poor and he could buy your entire family but get over it, america needs to stop the jealousy and prejudice. this is why other countries hate us.

Heres what his blog saad:
Man, I couldn’t get it. I stood outside no hours and got nothing. That’s when you sit in your room and try to use your celebrityism. I didn’t get nothing. I knew I should have called and said I was D-Wade. “Um, hello, this is D-Wade … This is LeBron … Can I come over there and get one of them?” Then I would have had one.

I just want to give a shout out to my Halo team, “Final Boss.” They came in second in Vegas. All the teams out there, get ready for them next year. We’re coming back strong.
