Disappointing. I had high hopes for this game.
But anyway, I don't mind getting one for free :-)

Now you see , I dont really agree , it isnt THE Dungeon Siege , but it deserves much more , its waaaay more superior to any h&s from the PSP ( ok , maybe not X-men legends 2 ) , and that means a lot . Not perfect , but still , I would rate it an 8 :)

Mhmm, many games on the psp aren't realy ready.

The psp is the better Handheld, but the software is just for making quick moeny, my opinion.

Sounds like a cool game, but the load times seem unbearable. Waiting 30 seconds every time you want to see your map!

Not sure, but I don't recall 'loading a loading screen' or a whole 30 seconds to bring up a map.

I didn't notice the HUD problem, but the ranged weapon exploit is indeed there for some enemies, though some seem to outsmart it, or have their own ranged attacks.

Generally, I'd agree the game has an unpolished feel (especially the level graphics) and there IS too much loading overall, but it's definitely better than Untold Legends, making it the 'best' dungeon crawler on the PSP right now (and the music is quite good). I'd give it maybe a 7.5.

Anyway, great review - gotta get some more of those churned out, Yoon! I'm on the fence as to whether Star Trek sucks or not. I need someone else's opinion because I can't form one of my own. >.<

Usually when these games get so so reviews I tend to like them a lot, but then again, I hate loading times.

While I'm definitely no fan of load times, I'd still love to give the game a try.. I enjoyed the PC Dungeon Siege game, so maybe this one will be worth it..

Rockstar seems to get load times right. Maybe they should offer to train other game studios... :)

I'm new to the PSP and still searching for the 'killer-game' for me. I've liked dungeon crawlers for quite some time and did have high hopes. Hopefully the developers can get the time to polish the game up for another release. I wouldn't mind giving it a try though.

In any case great review!

It sounds like a fun game, but I can see how some of those glitces would get to me. But of course I'd need a copy of the game to see for myself...

This is an excellent game. It is one of my first games for the PSP that I actually bought because I upgraded without knowing about the homebrew features of the handheld. I would give it an 8.

The loading times are the worst feature of the game, the rest are minor.

This is disappointing. As a fan of the PC games, I had high hopes for this one. So far, X-Men Legends II is the action RPG on the PSP. No others come close.

BTW, is there a NPC in the game that hawks the PC version of Dungeon Seige?

This is the first game I played on the PSP that I actually finished. Its very good, although the only gripe about it is that I seem to get more loot for the other characters than for mine i.e. when I play the mage I get more items for the barbarian and the ninja / rogue characters.

Oh well. I hope they release a new Dungeon Siege game soon.

cool! nice review! too bad that the game loads too slow... what if you played it at firmware 3.00? because i read an article on www.pspupdates.qj.net that it loads at 222 mphz and it might load because of other games loading faster due to the new firmware.... anyone want to try it? im not upgrading! i want to savior homebrew ;)

As for the review, it's a good review. We need critical reviews like this. :D

Sounds like the game was rushed from the review but at least its another RPG for the system. Its a shame since the series is very good on the PC.

I liked the PC games and thought it would rock if it was portable, but apparently, it won't rock like I think it will. A free one would always rock though.

I've enjoyed the Untold Legends series and played all the PC Dungeon Siege's (I've got a code from the PC Broken World game that should unlock something in the PSP version). If I could wait through Midnight Club load times, I'll give this game a chance (couldn't be much longer than that one).

Never really enjoyed hack/slash games but it's never too late to get into it. I hope the loading isn't as bad on 3.00 though, seeing as how it increases the PSPs clock speed and all.

When you can cross an entire are quicker than you can load the Teleporter map ... there is a problem. I actually clocked the time to exit a dungeon, walk to the adjacent teleporter, activate it, teleport to the city, immediately reload the teleporter and return to the original dungeon and enter it again. The time - just over 4.5 minutes!

It is my favorite hack&slash PSP game (I find the loads much less annoying than those in XMEN 2) ... but it could have been much more.

I was looking forward to this game too, but the reviews have been all over the map (IGN gave it 8.3, gamespot gave it 6.8)--thanks for another opinion!
Oh, what firmware was the test unit running? Those map problems seem pretty bad not to be addressed before release...
