Woah. I wonder if this is completely true. This explains why there was warnings about any extra light and stuff.
So... if you're having trouble with your extra wire for the sensor bar, there certainly IS no trouble at all!

I don't understand something. How does the information travel from the remote (or the candles) to the Wii? There has to be a way the Wii receives the info and processes it so as to ascertain the position of the remote. Otherwise the sensor bar, and the candles for that matter, are unnecesary.

The remote just uses the two IR sources as a reference to find it's position for the pointer. The sources don't do any data sending themselves.

The sensor bar doesn't actually sense a thing. It's just a set of infrared LEDs, and the cord connecting it to the Wii is nothing more than a power cord. Basically, the Wiimote "sees" the LEDs, and cursor position is based on where they fall within its field of view. Furthermore, motion-sensing functions aside from the pointer have nothing to do with the bar at all. The accelerometers do all of the work when it comes to motions.

That's wicked cool. If I had any problems with the sensor bar, I'd try that. Only problem is they would burn down. But the Sensor bar is fine for me.

Actually, I was playing Zelda this morning, and the sun started coming in the window, and I actually had to close thw blinds because the Wiimote was getting confused!!

Soooooo.... All we need now is multiple suns!! (Try connecting with a parallel universe using voodoo powers... yeah I realize I dont make sense)

Why in the name of all that is holy would you want candles that smell like a fanboy?

Used Cheetohs and marathon-session funk are not smells you want in your home.

I wonder if you could bounce infrared lasers off a screen to use as sensor points. That would help big tv's from being askew when you're too close.

I just finished trying it. It works, although it takes some time to get the reference point down. And it's spotty at best, but it does work.

Great...now someone will do this, play Tennis and serve like the idiot from the other video, throw the controller across the room, knock the candle over, and light their carpet on fire.

OMG the Wii burned down my house!

Since there are like 10 PS3s in the country, I think it's safe to say a lot of people forgot about it.

#3, #5 I get your point, and I don't understand either. I was first under the impression that the controller signals were sent by IR, but if what we have is a syetem which is backwards of a tv, ie IR reciver at the wiimote end, then by what frequency does the wiimote communicate with the wii? Magic? #5, yes I know all about the accelorometers, but how is that data sent to the wii, Bluetooth, or some other RF frequency, which one? That's the mystery here!

@18
Information is sent from the Wiimote to the Wii via Bluetooth, I do believe.

Ok, I don't know why nobody has mentioned this yet.

--- Go to the settings on your Wii
--- Go to "Adjust sensitivity"

Ta-da! There's a display that shows you EXACTLY what the Wiimote sees. It shows you all the IR sources it's picking up and everything - it's basically like having a little IR camera. It's pretty cool, and makes all these "use candles as a sensor bar" things seem kinda dumb.

Thanks for the great candle-lit date ideas.. now only if I could just use starfish instead of this gawdy Game-Shop babydoll tee and like, I dunno, maybe a hatchet instead of the Wiimote and perhaps...a...copy of E.T. instead of the WII itself... Oh, this guy will be crazy about me, not like the last one . By the way, Has anyone tried using a desklamp one one side and a mirror on the other side?
Wouldnt it be sony, I mean funny if you didn't even need the sensor anyways?
