who wants or needs bluray,i have a upscale dvd player and a xd engine hd tv. i simply play superman on my dvd player upscale to 720p and switch on the xd engine PRESTO HD-DVD.. NO PS3 NO HD DVD PLAYER REQUIRED YOU CARNT BRAINWASH Mii SONY.........

Hah, sooo many caps-locks.

Anyway, upscaled DVDs don't look anywhere near as good as Blu-ray. I know cuz I have a high end upscaler DVD player hooked up via HDMI and the PS3 hooked up via HDMI to a 1080p TV. And believe me. They look nowhere similar.

If you have a dinky little TV, maybe. But otherwise you're just fooling yourself (or blind, always a possibility).

If Blu-ray can make Will Farrell's pockmarked face look great at 1080p, then you know its pretty amazing. ;)

DUAL FORMAT PLAYER!!!

Sony...Toshiba...Stop F'in with your best customers and resolve this shithole...if you dont dvd will still be the winner (in sales) 10 years form now.

lol I think its funny how cubeboy is on every post for this site saying how bad the ps3 is and how much he hates it... You know for someone who hates the PS3 you really love to talk about.. Its sort of how they say homophobics or people who hate gay people really turn out to be gay... Maybe you really are a PS3 lover and dont want to admit it... or gay... or maybe BOTH!!!

Who the f*ck wants to watch a crappy 80's movie in high-def? What is the point? Does blu ray make the clothes and haircuts look less dated? Do the 80's "special effects" look any less fake?
