XBLA Poker to get update, leaderboard reset

Xbox 360 early adopters everywhere were thrilled when Microsoft announced a free, 48-hour download window for Xbox Live Arcade's Texas Hold 'Em Poker. They were less than thrilled when the actual game turned out to be a slow-paced, cheating-riddled, broken mess of a poker game. Oh, well, you get what you pay for, right?Apparently not. Tomorrow, Microsoft will be uploading a free update for the game that fixes many of the problems that have plagued would-be betters. The most important fix by far is the elimination of some well-known cheating methods and an accompanying leaderboard reset "to eliminate inflated scores as a result of these exploits." Other new features include improved matchmaking and interface, prettied up in-game art, and general speed enhancements.
Will the update be enough to transform Texas Hold 'Em Poker from an unplayable mess into a playable, um, non-mess? We'll find out along with you when the patch is release at 4 a.m. Eastern tomorrow morning.

I hope they fixed the size of the cards when playing on an SDTV. I normally can't tell the difference from a spade and a club unless I really concentrate on it.

Wow #3 is out there. Sony didn't invent linux, not even close. I can barely make out you're post through all the hate. If you hate MS so much then why read and post on an MS thread. Seriously, get some help. Something is missing in your life. MS is just a company, just like sony and nintendo. They are all in it for the money, no matter how much you believe sony actually loves you. Anyway, good they fixed the game. Why do people cheat in a poker game for no real money. Without the money the game becomes about the challenge.

I don't se why people give this game such a hard time. This is one of the top 3 games I play regularly. I have seen a few glitches, but the "annoyances" aren't really that bad. My biggest gripe was playing in a tournament (I always play tournaments online) with someone who wasn't playing. They just leave their console and let it fold until everyone else leaves or they run out of money. I bet that works occasionally, or at least gets them 2nd place. I like this game a lot, but now I am overjoyed that they are making it better. Patch or not, I will be playing this game for years.

Awesome. Love this game, was really disappointed when I learned the money cheat. Didn't stop me from using it though. =P
And friggin idle players ruined quite a few matches.
Hopefully no other cheats pop up. This is the best wed xbla release I could have hoped for

How about that 4 of diamonds, or was it 4 of hearts? One of them used the others pips... Hoep they update more than that for the in game artwork...commas in the dollar amounts, please! And larger font...50" HD-DLP, sitting 12 feet away and I still have a hard time reading some of the text... Will boot this up later to check it out...
