How about letting the user choose the size of the text? I have a 26" HDTV and in many cases the text is still too small to read.

I agree with Charles that you should let the user choose instead of trying to figure out what the user wants. I have a 61" HDTV, so I'm glad that companies are finally looking to cater to HDTV. There are so many games that have HUGE text still, and it's a bit annoying :)

I "rock out" on a 35" SD TV, so playing Dead Rising gives me a migraine. It got so bad, that I decided to trade my copy in instead of playing through it and beating it. I will might pick it up again if they ever decide to fix the text or whenever I am able to finally afford to buy an HD tv.

I'm using a SD tv, and it's still a nice tv. I don't see any reason to fork out 3,000 dollars for a HD tv. The 360 still looks amazing on mine. I'm sick of hearing people say the 360 is worthless without a HD.

@ Josh- "I don't see any reason to fork out 3000 dollars for an hdtv."

I still don't see where you people are getting your monetary figures from. This is 2006 (almost 2007) not 2003. HDTVs are much cheaper. Try the less than $1000 range easy. Just check walmart's website or target. Or heck check ebay, they have some 30+ inchers for like 500 bucks. Everyone needs to stop bitching about how expensive hdtv's are.

I'll eventually get HDTV, probably not for a year or two though.

Right now I'm rockin' on a 29 inch Flatscreen CRT I bought last year, before I knew I'd be getting a Xbox 360, or that the 360 would be running in HD on all of its games.

Actually, I'll probably wait for Laser-TV's to come out before going HD. sounds like they'll be cheaper, flatter, and less expensive than plasma.

I use a 22inch LCD Widescreen monitor for the setup in my room but I personally glad Capcom is fixing this for Lost Planet, especially with how much of a pain it caused with Dead Rising on SD (which they should apply this patch to Dead Rising as well...).

I have a 65" sony rear projection HDTV. But my AV cord was broke and I didn't know it for almost a year now. So I was using SD on my TV. Well I called MS after I found out and they promised to send me a new cord, well they never did. So I bought a 3rd party one on Ebay and hooked it up, just last night actually. And the difference was amazing!

Just upgraded from an old 27" t00b TV to a 42" Samsung plasma on Black Friday ;) And I thought Gears of War looked good at 480i! at 720p I can read the frigging headlines on the newspapers strewn on the floor LOL

I've got myself a nice little 20" SD TV. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to upgrade up to an HDTV...and they keep dropping in price. So maybe a poor college kid can afford one...eventually...

Seriously, I think people walk into stores and see that Sony SXRD or 60" Pioneer plasma when they walk in the store on the end cap and think you can only get a good HD set for 2-4k. If you don't have an HD set, you are either very very strapped, or just not looking hard enough. LCD rear projection, LCoS, DLP, are all great for gaming and much cheaper than plasma and LCD (which are still coming way down in price too). On Black Friday you could get a 42" plasma for $999, from Panasonic (it is rated well, or a 32" LCD for $400-500 depending on where you went. We are talking X360 pricing here folks.

Don't let your friends or the media convince you that you will just not be happy with anything but 1080p. The reality is very few games actually do 1080i even, most are 720p. If you don't go the wall mountable route, and 720p, you can get a great HD set for very little.
