No matter how good the game might be, it will be unfairly judged because of the delays. If they actually have something good now, maybe they should spend a week making a game with FPS Creator, call that Duke Nukem Forever, release it for free, weather the shitstorm of people complaining about how it is not good enough to warrant ten years in development and redevelopment, then release the good one six months later with a different name.

I've actually been checking the sites of retailers from time to time over the past 5 years as far as DNF goes, just out of curiosity. The DNF release-date has always been on these sites, but they change it every few weeks/months (meaning there is somebody who regularly changes the release date on these pages... yeah).

The release date on all of these sites has shown it coming out during the course of every year that has passed since that E3 trailer was released so very long ago. I have no idea why they've been taking the time to change the date regularly like this, but I hope to god there's some really keen business jargon involved.

At this point in time, I'd say there's a better chance of Bungee releasing Pimps At Sea before 3D Realms relases DNF.

Hm... I think Vampires 3 (yes, masquerade & bloodlines were supposed to be followed by another one) will be released before duke fornever. so... who cares? in the year 6666 they might be done. they might be.

I love Duke Nukem. Nothing beats laser trip mines. I'm eager to see what the heck this will look like, since graphics have changed so much since then. I just wish I could enable internet play on my original D.N.

For those of you who point to Half-Life 2's development time:

Keep in mind that BOTH Half-Life 1 and Half-Life 2 have come out since 3D Realms first announced that they were working on DNF.
Seriously, 3DR...it's time to pack it in. Give up, move onto other projects, maybe give it a crack again (from scratch!) in 5 or 10 years.

anyone that spent the later half of their childhood playing duke nukem 3d will know that it was a great game. i'm really sad that dnf can't come together within the next decade. it would be really nice to revisit duke. hopefully, if this ever got made, we would see a great game regardless of the nostalgia factor.

Let's face it - Duke 3d was a clever game for its time. However, after 10 years, the 13-17 year old kids who were infatuated with this game (I was 14 and created a folder hidden within about 17 different folders in the most remote part of "program files" so my parents wouldn't find it) have grown up

Most of the people who played it are much older now and need something more than strippers and funny one-liners taken from b movies.

Bring on a Star-con sequel!

GEEZ! I could have made DNF by myself and still would have beaten 3drealms to the release. Well actually I'm making a little spin off called Duke Nukem:Revenge. In this he comes out of the computer and hunts down all the guys at 3Drealms for taking sooooooooooo long. "Hey Mr. Animator! How would ya like that pencil shoved up your ass?" But I think what they are doing is waiting for all the Duke Nukem fans to die so when they release DNF he'll be the new superhero, lol.
Anyways, if it does come out, I'll by a pirated copy, hehehe.
